So, as attentive readers may have noted, earlier this month the entirety of the Mousehold loaded up in both cars and set our sights northward. We were destined for the longest camping trip I've been on since leaving the Boy Scouts.
The Mousehold went up first, to establish the base camp. In the following days we were joined by
amarafox, who bunked with us in a tent larger than my first apartment. Soon after,
commanderteddog and her lad Rob arrived, along with the LJless Kitty and Conan. We were camping in exactly the same spot as last year, and I experience curious deja vu that was, after all, not really deja vu but familiarity.
It was epic.
velvetpage built fires and fought vampires.
kores_rabbit helped finish off some of the bloodsuckers.
The sky was packed with stars.
Claire collected acorns and kept the local rodents well fed, myself excepted.
Elizabeth did a lot of swimming. At night, I read to the girls from The Silver Chair.
amarafox and
commanderteddog formed a prog-folk-filk band.
There were feasts!
And gaming in the woods at night!
All in all, a successful venture. I look forward to future camping jaunts with magnificent nerds.
