i have tried my best so now i am hoping for the best XD
here is a full rundown of what happened the moment i stepped into the room of examiners.
i picked out my submission package from the floor. takes out the dv tape and gave it to alan.
alan: alright, lets see if the tape is que. well, it shld be since i've done it for you.
me: ...issit? but i dunno what you did with it -___-
alan: but it is because i was the one who put the file inside.
me:... -too nervous to think of anything to say- orh...but i still dunno what you did to it.
alan: ok, so later you just press play.
me: ok...
alan: you want me to ask them the qns you ask me just now?
me: huh? oh ok...
alan: ok, her work is incomplete so do you guys want to watch until where she has done until or just watch through the remaining animatics too?
random lecturer: anything...
ronald: whole thing! whole thing!
me: -brain dying-
julian or jeff: ok you may begin
me: -says name and admin no. and brief description of story-

my heart really drop when the animetics comes on. total duration is around 4 mins, i only have 1 mins odd of complete animation and the other 2-3 min of old animatics in it. yes, very screwed. incomplete work. and hearing the total off sync audio, i was clutching my hands till my nails is gonna dig into my skin and flesh. ah..THE HORRORS. i keep telling myself repeatedly in the head to calm down calm down.
then i wanted to stop the tape playing after the animatics ended but they all want to finish listening to the audio...so depressing. T~T
i thought i will have time to present my powerpt first before they asked any qns but steph immediately shoot 'how come it is incomplete?'
ok, i know its a 100%-chop-will-ask qns. but i didnt expect it to come straight into my face like a bullet train. then i got stunned for a moment.
me: er...i have a powerpt to present.
alan: ok -went to set up-
me: -tries to plug thumbdrive in but dunno which com to plug to- (mental scream: WHY IS THE SET UP SO COMPLICATED?! WHERE IS THE MOUSE?!)
alan: go ans the qns steph asked you. -stern-
me: -takes a deep breathe- explain explain explain explain explain.....
heng when i was explaining, i see their expression turning from serious and stern to mutual understand (mental scream: GOT HOPE GOT HOPE!) but then my knees started shaking. -___- i think its the air con, i think.
then after that some of them seems to love my characters and the style...k i was happy but i was so nervous (mental chant: stay calm stay calm) someone asked me where did the story come from. it was the pid lecturer i think.
alan: she wrote it. -everyone diam diam- (mental scream: THANKS!)
YES I WROTE IT! OMG lol (mental scream: CONCEPTS DUN JUST DROP FROM THE SKY! T_T)
then alfie and yong asked where did i get my inspirations and what influenced my style...ok, can answer easily and i am getting less and less nervous. XD but i got stuck at the part where they ask what which animes/cartoons did i watched that influence my style.
me: -blank- ._. a lot.
yong: well, name some...
me: er...tim burton's... -mental block- (THE ANIMATION 'VINCENT' JUST FAILED TO COME OUT OF MY MOUTH)...-starts bullshitting- i watch japanese animes and also western cartoons/animation so thats why my protagonist doesnt look very anime-like nor western-like...its a blend of both...-heng smoked through-
random lecturer: so why did you choose to do a mix of 3D and 2D?
me: because i took all 2D modules and 3D modules altogether , so i was thinking of try to mix both together...experiment with it. (mental note: this was really just impromptu)
julian said when he first saw me presented during interim 1, he thought my work look very promising but...its incomplete. (mental scream: i made ppl felt disappointed! such a let down! nooooooooo!)
then alan keep reminding them that last fri i was hurled on my ass (by him) to dump whatever i have onto the dv tape because at 11am i was still compositing...and no time already. must submit at least something if not i will fail. (mental scream: THANKS!!)
and after that i showed them my powerpt...the other scenes and images i failed to composite in and put together in time...(mental scream: development! please see my development and spare me T_T lols)
ronald: so if lets say if you were given more time, how many more days do you think you need to complete it?
me: (metal scream: OMG) er... -thinks thinks-
steph/alfie: not work 24/7. must include sleeping time, eat and bath...etc. (i think i look very shag -__- for them to say this)
ronald: you can only work 6hrs a day on it.
me: ._. erm...maybe...1 wk?
all: -stunned-
me: ERM. THATS if i can only work 6hrs a day. (mental scream: oh crap, i shld have said 5 days or something)
tada...thats...pretty much about it. i think my presentation was quite long, so many qns... -___- but at least i think it really saved my ass.
oh then in the end...when i was leaving
me: -mumbles- where is my thumbdrive...? *-*
alan: its behind.
me: ...-plucks out-
alan: hey, and your note...on the table, don't forget.
me: oh yar. -___-
k, i was supposed to read from this note i brought in but in the end i left it on the table and never used -___- i think the moment i stepped inside the room i brain-ditz
and i really want to thanks ronald for being so kind and supportive to send me encouraging smses before and after my presentation -touched-
