Not much new to report.
Have just started in a AH Dune PBEM game, and so far, I'm very impressed with it's setup. So far, it's the only use that I've ever seen for a wiki outside of the Wikipedia. (See the
site for the slickness.) I'm playing Bene Gesserit, and I'm very interested to see if it works. Normally, I play with people I know, and can make judgements on their play style and skill before making the Bene Gesserit prediction for victory, and throughout the game I can judge and adjust my play style based around visual and nonverbal clues from the other players. This time, being a PBEM, I'm running "blind", and I wonder if it's going to work.
My first real PBEM. Strange, I know, but I've always preferred IRL gaming. Of course, now that most of the old gaming groups have scattered (sigh) or are otherwise unavailable, I don't have many options. I've been positively *twitching* for a game of Dune, too.
Yesterday was the evil night of much snowfall and concomitant painful driving. I've decided that I'm not really cut out to be a driver, what with the way I get stressed, and really need a chauffeur. Are you listening,
cosmicdolphin? :-)
Much, much love to
cosmicdolphin who kept me mostly sane during the drive home and to
dnereverri, who managed to not freak when I was freaking earlier in the day ;-)
Dual parties have been declared for tomorrow, but I may not go to either, wussing out due to snow. We'll see.
Spent an entertaining day hunting up books to buy, as we need to take advantage of
cosmicdolphin working in a bookstore. Fun stuff and good/bad for the collector in me. I mean, do I really need a poker book by
philfoglio? Clearly, yes, I do ;-)
More updating later.
