“Hey Pierre, what’s wrong?” David asked as he sat down on the chair next to Pierre
“Pierre?” David tried again this time gently touching Pierre’s arm
“Huh?” Pierre asked looking over at David
“What’s wrong?” David asked again looking at Pierre with concern
“Nothing, it’s just...” Pierre trailed off, averting his gaze to his lap
“It’s just what?” David urged him to continue
“It’s just that last night when I phoned home, my dad wouldn’t even talk to me. It’s been like that since I told him about us.” Pierre explained, letting a single tear drop fall down his cheek
“Oh, Pierre Bear...” David said in a soothing tone as he straddled Pierre’s thighs
“It’ll be okay, you just have to give him time. Those two incy little words are a lot to take in; it took me a long time before I could accept it about myself. He’ll come around, you’ll see.” David tried consoling Pierre
“But, it’s been a month since...” Pierre rebutted with a frown
“Well, then give him another month.” David said with a soft smile appearing at the corners of his mouth
“I love you David, you always know the right things to say.” Pierre said as he wrapped his arms around the smaller man’s waist
“And you know the right places to touch.” David said with a smile
“There it is.” David said quietly as he let his hands slide from Pierre’s shoulders to rest on his chest
“There what is?” Pierre asked, smiling up at David
“That beautiful smile that I love so much.” David said as he leaned down and softly kissed Pierre. Pierre wrapped his arms tighter around David and pulled him closer as he deepened the kiss.
“There you guys are, come on we go on in like five minutes.” Seb said from the doorway, surprising both Pierre and David
“Okay.” David said, swallowing and trying to catch his breath. He climbed off of Pierre’s lap and waited for him to get up, and watched as Pierre absently wiped his mouth. David thought it was cute that Pierre still did that.
“Hey, isn’t that Pie’s dad?” Seb asked as he nudged David’s arm as he was picking up his bass
“Yeah, it is.” David answered with a confused frown

David followed Pierre to the back of the stage as they finished playing I’m Just a Kid and pulled him aside.
“What is it?” Pierre asked when they were at the side of the stage by the extra guitars
“We’re playing Perfect now, and your dad is standing over there.” David said as he pointed over to where Pierre’s dad was currently standing. Pierre’s only response was a nod before walking back to centre stage and introducing the song.
“Where’d he go?” Pierre asked in a hoarse whisper as he looked over to where his dad had been standing, David just shrugged his shoulders and looked around. Just then Pierre’s dad walked onto the stage and hugged Pierre.
“I’m so sorry son, I love you.”
“I know, me too Dad.” Pierre said as he struggled to hold back his tears
“I am proud of you, I’ll always be proud of you.”
“I’ll talk to you after the show, okay?” Pierre asked his dad as they pulled away from one another. Pierre’s dad nodded the affirmative and turned to walk off stage when the entire crowd started to clap.

“Hey Dave.” Pierre called as he ran up to David
“Yeah Pie?” David asked, stopping and letting Pierre catch up
“Thank you.” Pierre said softly as he wrapped his arm around David’s waist
“You’re welcome.” David said and quickly pecked Pierre on the lips
