Religion and Politics
Benjamin Franklin -- aka Founding Father said:
When a religion is good, I conceive that it can support itself, and, when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support it, so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, it is a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.
If you haven't read anything by Jon Meacham, check out this article. He's eloquent and level-headed and I believe that our national debates would be far more fruitful and enlightening if everyone were as well-educated on the matter of religion and politics as he is.
