Theme: Finger.
Characters/Pairings: Lightning/Ophelia, Silvermane.
Summary: One day, in the middle of training, while he was trying to get something out of the closet that held weapons and protective head gear, Lightning broke a finger.
Notes: I'm going to try and complete a table of prompts from
100_situations for Lightning/Ophelia and other characters, because I'm bored (and I'm working on a little mini project concerning the two, to revisit ~the old days~). Plus, this was fun to write. xD It takes place when Lightning and Ophelia are Dragons, living with the rest.
Copyright: I do not own the show Teen Titans nor do I own any of the characters. Ophelia is a fictional character by
sleepyscribbles, who gave me permission to use her. The same goes for Silvermane, who belongs to
evilwildlex. The story itself is mine.
One day, in the middle of training, while he was trying to get something out of the closet that held weapons and protective head gear, Lightning broke a finger.
Lightning surprised Ophelia every day. He could shoot lightning out of his hands without so much as flinching and jog around the yard without having a problem catching his breath, but he couldn’t handle a broken finger. When Ophelia heard the scream coming from the training quarters, she could’ve sworn she heard a girl crying, fearing for the worst for her new friend Silvermaine. When she ran into the room and saw Lightning curled into a ball and lying on the floor, making sucking noises with his finger in his mouth and whimpering, she had no idea what to say to him - or how to hold back her laughter.
Lightning was still angry with her for laughing.
“Hold still,” Ophelia tried to order, trying to get a look at his finger.
Lightning squirmed in his seat when she grabbed his hand and touched his finger. He snatched his hand away, and glared. “I can’t see if it’s really broken if you won’t let me see!” Ophelia said.
“How can I show you my finger if you are going to keep tugging at it!?” he demanded.
“Quit being such a big baby,” she said, grabbing his hand again.
“I am not being a baby…”
“Are you sure you broke it, and you didn’t just bang it up? I slam my finger in my closet doors all the time, but I never broke it.”
“I am sure. I have told you this.”
“Can you move it? Even just a little? Try wiggling it.”
“If I was able to move it, do you think I would be sitting here and wasting my time with you instead of finishing my training?!”
When Silvermane walked into the kitchen with a medical kit, Ophelia had Lightning pinned on the ground, pummeling his face with a newspaper. Silvermane ran over to them and broke it up. Not only did Lightning have a broken finger, but now he had rustled hair and … mysteriously, water all over his neck and shoulders. Silvermane decided to leave it at that (she tried not to figure out what went on between Lightning and Ophelia), and walked over to the table. “I-I think I should wrap that up,” Silvermane said to Lightning, “before we head to the hospital. Is that okay?”
With one glaring look from Ophelia, Lightning grudgingly sat at the table with Silvermane and let her do just that.
