Springsteen on the brain...

Nov 13, 2007 20:38

Sadly, I have no concert synopsis for you yet- I want to wait until I get the time to upload my pictures, which I haven't done yet. BUT this is just something to keep me occupied during the breaks I take in between analyzing the role of fate in The Elephant Vanishes, not that that isn't a fantastic whizbanger of a way to spend my evening. /sarcasm

Ganked from scarab_dynasty: Pick a band whose lyrics have always felt express your life and emotions well. Use ONLY their lyrics to answer the following survey.

~Which band are you using?
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (naturlich)! <3 <3 <3

~Are you a boy or girl?
Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge, drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain.

~How old are you?
We've known each other, yeah, ever since we were sixteen. (Technically, I'm not sixteen... but I will be in another six days, and you try finding a fifteen-year-old in one of their songs. ^^0)

~Where do you live?
Got a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack.

~What's your home life like?
I hid in the cloud and ran from the crowd, when they said "Sit down" I stood up. Oooh, growing up.

~What's your current mood?
Them downtown boys sure talk gritty, well it's hard to be a saint in the city.

~What do/did you think of school?
Well, we busted out of class, had to get away from those fools. We learned more from a three-minute record, baby, than we ever learned in school.

~Describe your first love.
Sometimes I spot a little stranger standing 'cross the room, my brain takes a vacation just to give my heart more room. For one kiss, darling, I swear everything I would give, cause you're a walking, talking reason to live.

~Describe your first heartbreak.
And all those things that seemed so important, well mister, they vanished right into the air. Now I just act like I don't remember...

~Describe the emotion behind a moment you will never, ever forget.
Love is a power greater than death, just like the songs and stories told. And when she built you, brother, she broke the mold. That attitude's a power greater than death, alive and burning her stone-cold.

~What do you think of your life in general?
Hard times, baby well they come to us all, sure as the ticking of the clock on the wall, sure as the turning of the night into day. Your smile, girl, brings the morning light to my eyes, lifts away the blues when I rise. I hope that you're coming to stay. And I'm waiting, waiting on a sunny day.

~What's changed for you in the past year?
They made that change uptown, and the Big Man joined the band. From the coastline to the city, all the little pretties raise their hands. Well, I'm gonna sit back real easy and laugh when Scooter and the Big Man bust this city in half.

~What's one thing you do every day?
I'll meet you on the ridge between these worlds apart.

~What's your favourite colour?
I can smell the same deep green of summer.

~What's your favorite sound?
I want a thousand guitars, I want pounding drums, I want a million different voices speaking in tongues.

~Do you have any piercings/tattoos?
Lost but not forgotten.

~Do you take drugs?
I can feel my heart begin to pound. You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes and follow your dreams down. We made a promise we swore we'd always remember. No retreat, baby, no surrender.

~Say something to someone you miss.
Stay on the streets of this town and they'll be carving you up all right. They say you gotta stay hungry. Hey baby, I'm just about starving tonight! I'm dying for some action. I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book. I need a love reaction, come on, baby, give me just one look.

~Say something to someone you can't stand.
You'll be fine as long as your pretty face holds out, then it's gonna get pretty cold out. Endless streams of stars shooting by, you got your hopes on high. You'll be coming down now, baby, you'll be coming down. What goes around comes around, and you'll be coming down.

~Say something to someone you like.
Two hearts are better than one.

~What's your current status?
With a boulder on my shoulder, feeling kinda older, I tripped the merry-go-round.

~Are you happy with it?
I don't give a damn for the same old played-out scenes, I don't give a damn for just the in-betweens. Honey, I want the heart, I want the soul, I want control right now.

~Describe your most recent last relationship.
I met "her" in a Kingstown bar. We fell in love, I knew it had to end. We took what we had and we ripped it apart, now here I am down in Kingstown again. Everybody's got a hungry heart.

~Describe your last kiss.
Together they take a stab at romance and disappear...

~Describe a favourite hobby.
We're gonna play some pool, skip some school, act real cool, stay out all night.

~What's your favourite season?
The girls in their summer clothes.

~Do you ever get deja vu?
You remember the faces, the places, the names.

~Ever been drunk?
She got down but she never got tight, but she'll make it all right.

~What did you last cry over?
Terry, you swore we'd live forever, taking it on them backstreets together.

~Describe one of your happiest moments.
You hung with me when all the others, they turned away, turned up their nose. We liked the same music, we liked the same bands, we liked the same clothes. We told each other that we were the wildest, the wildest things we'd ever seen.

~Describe the perfect partner.
You're not man enough for me to hate or woman enough for kissing.

~Describe your perfect day/night.
The aurora is rising behind us. Those pier lights, our carnival life forever. Oh, love me tonight, and I promise I'll love you forever.

~Describe your best friend/friends.
Now we went walking in the rain, talking about the pain from the world we hid. Now there ain't nobody, nowhere, nohow, gonna ever understand me the way you did. Maybe you'll be out there on that road somewhere, in some bus or train, traveling along. In some motel room, there'll be a radio playing, and you'll hear me sing this song. Well, if you do, you'll know I'm thinking of you and all the miles in between. And I'm just calling one last time, not to change your mind, just to say I miss you, babe. Good luck, good-bye. (I've quoted nearly this entire song through the course of this meme. Is this a sign? (A sign that I fucking ADORE this song?!) )

~What's something you wish to achieve?
Well, if I could, I surely would stand on the rock where Moses stood.

~What's something about yourself that you're proud of?
Papa, now I know the things you wanted that you could not say. But won't you just say good-bye, it's Independence Day. I swear I never meant to take those things away.

~What's something you'd change about yourself?
In the crowded marketplace I drift from face to face. I hold my breath and close my eyes, hold my breath and close my eyes. And I wait for paradise, and I wait for paradise.

~Where do you hope to be in five years?
Now I been out in the desert just doing my time, searching through the dust, looking for a sign. If there's a light up ahead, well, brother, I don't know. But I got this fever burning in my soul. So let's take the good times as they go, and I'll meet you further on up the road.

~What's one thing you want to do/try before you die?
Let love give what it gives, let's let love give what it gives.

~Death is inevitable. How do you want to go out?
One of these nights, 'bout twelve o' clock, this whole world is gonna rock. Pharoah's army got drownded, oh Mary, don't you weep.

~Describe your outlook on life.
"Heroes are needed, so heroes get made."

~What's one piece of advice you'd give to the world if they'd only listen?
Here everybody has a neighbor, everybody has a friend. Everybody has a reason to begin again.

That was FAR more long and engaging than it had any right to be. Phew. Bed now, textmarking tomorrow, I guess.

meme, bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce!, self-exposition say whaaat?
