Letter one // Intro - Video

[The video comes on and Mary is standing there gazing into it with a smile then she aims it at a happy bouncey little Vanonat.]

Van![She shifts the camera around a little bit, and for a moment it aims at the ground. Mary is slipping out of what looks like a pair of white heels as she starts to speak, stumbling a bit as she loses her balance,

[Another pause as James tries his best to soak all of this in. She's responding, she IS actually there.]

M-Mary I-...

[How horrible that now Silent Hill wasn't just their special place anymore. That place held so many fond memories, but now by it's own twisted and dark ways it had forged itself into a place that James considered a good source of nightmare fuel.]

[Which was something that saddens the man deeply. Such a lovely place with such lovely memories shouldn't have been so terribly scuffed, but it had been.]

How could I not?

I-- Well we'll see about going back there, but right now I think it's a little more important that we find each other...

[James wasn't trying to sound so... surly, especially not towards his own wife, but he wasn't exactly sure how to take this. Or how to feel, not to mention that thorn that seems to keep digging deeper into his chest.]

I'm in Violet-- which is a few weeks from where you are. Damnit...[That mutter under his breath was him cursing himself for ever leaving Cherrygrove.]

I'm guessing you're in New Bark, I'll be leaving to go meet you then.

I-- God Mary... I missed you so much.

[One wouldn't be able to tell James was happy from how he sounded, but he was. He was just a swirl of confusion and general 'WHAT DO' right now so he almost sounded automated.]

[Mary watches him her smile disappearing, if only for the moment, she was still happy to see James, to hear from him. He hadn't visited once since she had been admitted into the hospital back home. And now, that she was here, feeling better, and with James...]

James...hunny.

[She finds a place to sit down gazing to her husbands face. The tone of his voice...everything was so...off.]

Whats wrong?

I missed you too, very much, I waited and waited at the hospital for you to come and see me...

Maybe...you were busy...but...

[Tears well in her eyes.]

Oh James, I'm so sorry! I can maybe meet you half way from here? Then we can talk face to face about all of this.

[She gives a small smile.]

After all, now that we're here we can try to make the best of this new life while we can right?

[James is merely keeping that sad expression, he looks tired and just worn. It is clearly obvious he looks almost aged, especially since the grief had taken it's toll on the man.]

Mary... I'm sorry I should hav-- [Wait. That explains a lot, Mary was obviously from a time before-- She had to be. James had visited her. Did she not remember how she was mad at him about those flowers? Then again, she looked different then. Here she was completely healthy.]

[He knew exactly what she was referring to though, James wasn't the best at coming to visit her, but it was hard. How could he visit her when it was so hard to see her like that. She looked so sad in that hospital bed, so tired and just miserable. He felt horrible just seeing her like that.]

[Being completely useless to help her at all.]

M-Mary don't apologize. I.. I think it might be best to wait there, the wilderness is dangerous and if anything happened to you... I'll try to get there as soon as I can.

[James knew how dangerous this world could be. He had taken it for granted at first, the colors and weird animals were a false security. They were way more dangerous than one would assume. James wasn't going to allow something to happen to Mary, not if he could help it.]

[Looking closer at James the tears escaped, and she clutched the poke'gear closer as if to hold her husband. Mary was a good wife, she did her best to help her husband, he was her family, the love of her life...and he looked so...diffrent.]

James, sweetheart, what happened to you?

[She blinks at that and frowns again.]

James...I don't want to wait anymore. Please. Just half way. I can take care of myself.

[James felt a lump in his throat form around the same time that the thorn started to dig deeper. He hadn't meant to make her cry, he was trying not to be so... So depressing. Though it was something he couldn't really help.]

[Maybe it'd be different once he saw her in person.]

I-- Nothing happened. Why? [While James was aware of how he had externally changed, it wasn't exactly something that crossed his mind that much, so for the most part he was at a loss for what she meant.]

Mary...

This place is dangerous. I know the animals look cute and colorful but this place isn't what it all seems to be. I've been here for about two and a half months.

I'd much rather you stay put where it's safe.

James, Heather said the same thing, I promised I would be careful. No place is as safe as it seems, I understand that.

But I don't want you to come all the way here just to come and get me...

[James frowns at that. That was what she meant. He didn't exactly know how to tell her that she died three years ago for him and the weight of it all had aged him considerably. But he couldn't exactly brush off her question either.]

Oh. I'm just tired.

[Well James, that isn't going to work forever. Though the mention of Heather was interesting to say the least. She had already talked to her? Well, alright.]

Heather? So I guess I don't really have to introduce you two then... But. Mary, as much as I would prefer you to stay put, I can't really make you just... Yeah please be careful.

Mary I would walk a million miles and more just to make sure you were safe.

[At the next words she chuckles a bit at how romantic it sounded.]

[Start over? That... Well that seemed like a great idea, even more so for James than probably Mary considering that where he's from, she's dead. Another try at things seemed too good to be true.]

Yes... I think we should... I'd like that.

[James was still smiling softly.]

The danger isn't so bad when you know what you're doing in this world. That little companion you have, that uh... [James is derpily staring closer at the screen to try and figure out what exactly that thing was.]

That... bug is suppose to be used to fight off the wild monsters in this world. I dunno how well a ball of purple fluff will do but... Well that's how this world works.

Isn't he the cutist? His name is Vanonat, though I think I want to give him a nickname, I just don't know what yet.

So he fights? Interesting...
