Never corner an injured animal...

Last night's game was intense. And I'm sure those at home were freaking out at TBS for not broadcasting the first inning due to a blown router. And my bar (or any bar) was not pleased. You can imagine how emotional and high strung Sox fans can be, just imagine how manic they can be when one of the most important games of the post season has been replaced with The Steve Harvey Show with no explanation.

At first I didn't think anything of it until one of my tables asked to put the game on. I noticed it was well past the odd 8:07 start time and think maybe it was to start at 8:37. Then everyone started to get antsy, saying to put it on TNT or Fox. We kept insisting, no, it's on TBS, and yes, we realize there's a game on, we are working on it, and no, we don't have a radio we can just put on, and no, switching from HD TBS to the regular will not make a difference, and yes, I'm pretty sure other bars don't have the game either, and so goes the country. I kept offering people shots, as they desperately all checked their phones for updates on the ongoing game. I can't tell you how aweful it was to be working in a bar for that inning.

But the game went on, we now advance to tonight's game 7. At first, all the staff at Lir were furious at the thought of having to come in on Sunday to work, and I admit, I was hoping to lose Thursday. Now I've come to my senses, and am excited that the Sox have rallied back.

Although, if I have to come into work tonight, just to see the Sox lose, I will riot down Boylston st.
