So I realized that I only have time to update on Thursday mornings if I'm here early enough. My schedule is hella-ass crazy all the time, so yeah. ReyJ brought me here this morning at 7:35am and I went into the LTC for some kolaches and coffee. I went through 3 different groups of people this morning at my table. 1st group: Greg, ReyJ, Andy, and that dude, and that guy. 2nd group: That guy again, Andy, Vanessa. And the 3rd group: Vanessa, Shelli, and Crystal. The 'that dude/guy' are the people who I don't know that decided to sit with me cause, I "looked like a cool guy."
I have a recital tonight in the FA building. We're playing "Modul Suite", which consists of three movements. Mixolydian Walking Tune, Dorian Folk Song, and the Lydian Jig. For you music people out there, those should sound familiar. I have my solo recital on November 17th. I'll be playing "Beautiful Colorado". Which sucks though is that Wednesday the 16th is not only Heather's birthday, but also the day of our school tour. Where MCC Wind Symphony goes to a High School in the region and plays a concert for them and talk about coming to MCC in the Fall. I don't think we know where we're going this year, but it's whateva. So I'll have the school tour on Wednesday, and then my solo recital the next night. Bullox. I was in my lesson on Tuesday with Dr. Haskett and we were discussing my exit recital which is in May. He told me that I'll be playing two heavy solos, an easier solo, and an ensemble piece. All in one night. One of the heavy solos is "Beautiful Colorado", and the other one is................
BLUE BELLS OF FUCKING SCOTLAND!!!!!!!!!! I can't possibly see how he expects ME to be able to play that damn song!! Oh well, I guess I'll just suck it up, learn the piece, play it, and move on. Dammit... That piece is one of the hardest solos for Euphonium ever written.
I still don't have my car either. I was supposed to get the damn thing back several weeks ago, but nay. Tis been pushed back further and further. The guy said, "I'll TRY to get it back to you by this weekend." He told us last week that I'd have it by today AT THE LATEST. I guess I can't really complain though. Just as long as I get the damn thing back. It's been two months. Stupid not having a car!!! Getting rides every damn day wherever I go. Bah!
For those of you who're interested, Heather and I are doing great. No change there. We've been having some serious talks lately too. About this and that. I can honestly say that I am very confident that we're going to go VERY far together. Yay!!!! I hope she likes her 'birthday' present that I'm 'giving' her...
Well, that's all for now. Peace!
