In the interest of my return to Martial Arts I thought it a good idea to visit my doctor to get some advice on how I should go about dropping some weight. So yesterday I had my appointment and was told I was overweight. Duh! I knew that. What I didn't know was I am in a border-dangerous area. Basically he told me I have high blood pressure and if

heh, when I got to NZ I was 105kg cos I had spent a lot of time drinkin a lottttt of beer, chonging my lungs up, eating Indian food and other shite, and doing no exercise - needless to say my fat fek status was no surprise.
Cut out fizzy drinks and drink more water, eat loads less carbs and some more protein and eat 5 bits of fruit and veg a day - all healthy stuff, no silly diets that mentally make it a right chore and it aint that hard to do.
also..no diet will ever work without exercise, you need to do stuff to burn what you put in.
So I eat really nicely about 6 times a day - loads of salads (no leafy shit, only the good bits of salad, and no potatoes) and meat (chicken is best then steak). Ok, theres no lovely fried groovyness and not a cream bun in site, but its either 'look at the cream or see your toes'.
Find something you enjoy doing rather than just exercising or you'll hate it, get all done in and go and fill yer face with fat lad tucker once more.
I'm now down to nearly 80kg (but got down to 90kg by just altering the diet -you'll see the difference in a month easy), do quite a bit of riding and am back where I was a couple of years ago. I can also eat and drink what I like on the weekends making sure I stick to the healthy stuff all week.
From one ex fat lad to another, a little song of encouragement -
who ate all the pies?
who ate all the pies?
you fat bastad, you fat bastad - you ate all the pies!
*grin*
