irritation, and a new jacket

Memo: If someone says they can babysit every day except Saturday, and says it three or four times in emails and a phone call, don't expect them to show up to babysit on Saturday. Furthermore, please don't then call your husband saying that they bailed out on you without letting you know, causing you to miss rehearsal. Because they will hear about it, and lo, it shall make them Annoyed.

It also helps if you make plans with someone during the day and not at 1130 the night before you want them to come do something that necessitates waking up in the neighborhood of 7 AM. At that point, plans have been made, and simply because some of us aren't working, it doesn't mean that we don't have things to do as well. Plus, it's common courtesy, and shall make them Further Annoyed, especially when they feel they need to apologise for then not being informed of when and where and how on Sunday.

As you can guess, I have been Annoyed, and then Further Annoyed

Anyway, I got a new jacket today, which is totally making the entire situation a lot better. Sean and I went down to St. Mark's, as we do, and stopped at this little hole in the wall shop where a guy (Boris) with a strong Russian accent does custom leather repair, sneaker design, and airbrushing. After talking with Boris for a bit ("How's buisness these days, man?" "Ah, same old, zere are foohcking heepsters walk back and fors' all day") I saw an amazing leather jacket on the wall - it fit me perfectly, and he let me have it for $30. It needs a pocket liner sewn shut, a non-essential zipper unstuck (which Boris is apparently a dab hand at), and a good airing out, but still - amazing for the price. Especially given the usual prices of things in New York City, particularly in the East Village. Boris sent me off with my new posession, promising that if I ever needed a good pair of Doc Marten's, he'd set me up.

Now I need to get the World/Inferno logo painted on the back, and all will be awesome.

I like this one, but it'd take a while and I'd probably have to get Annie to do it.

Simpler, still an Annie job, but also very cool.

At the very least, some stencils or something. Cause, you know, I can't have an undecorated jacket, and the jean jacket can't last forever.
