First nice day in a while....

As karma/luck would have it, this is the first nice day in a while here in the park. Well, today and Thursday, the only two days this week that I didn't have to go to QED. Monday was a torrential downpour on my way in and yesterday my sister loaned me her sucky umbrella as mine was MIA, which was...just...great.

My midterm for my internship is on Monday, sometime during the day, meaning two of my supervisors have to evaluate me in my presence. I hope that they are fair but gentle, as if they give me a harsh report I not only have to deal with them, but also with Babs when she calls later this week. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that she calls on Tuesday morning when my sibs are at the dentist, or some other time when I am home alone. Which does not happen much. This week, I was supposed to go on this sales appointment with Jerry, then I get there and find out that it was canceled. Boo whatever company that was--you whores! However, it worked out because they let me use my creativity to make an ad that will get sent out to businesses who want to advertise on our tv/radio stations/web site. I designed it and Bill went and showed it to Rick (although he stands at 5'4" and resembles someone's grandfather, still scares me), who liked it. I believe the word he used was "cool" and I know this because I was listening outside the door. Additionally, I was given July 3 off, but am supposed to go in July 6 because I am going on an appointment to Shadyside Academy. That means I have to be on my best behavior for the prep school kiddies, I suppose.

In other news, in one week my family from the south aka the Rebs will be making a visit to the north. And I now have proof that they (meaning the south in general) is still bitter about that whole losing the Civil War thing: for Fourth of July, they want to go to an Italian chain restaurant. Now, one could argue that going to an Italian restaurant would be celebrating our heritage. However, I know that it is not the heritage of me, my parents, my grandparents, my two uncles nor my three siblings. That only leaves the possiblity of my two aunts and my two cousins--still, majority rules. But it's not like anyone ever listens to me.
