So Long!

I feel like a sinner because I haven't Journaled in such a long time. So now I am going to give you a run down- randomly- as far back as I can remember.

This week, tuesday, Jon Leebrick sent everyone out on a "scavanger" hunt to find the props. I stayed at school and did the books. Each time someone came in with a receipt I logged it and then numbered it. I was unsure of how to present these to the money guy and I temporarily screwed it up. Oh well, I fixed it. The set was coming together at this point very well.

We also tried to work out another agreement with the Apex crew, we wanted to rent some more equipment from the morgue, they on Wednesday agreed to pay for half of the rental cost. This is awesome, we have done a good job with the budget.

My concern over these past few days is the camera team. They haven't showed any proof of action. My DP Adam Kruckenburg is very lazy and he is unable to organize his crew. We constantly have to ask him to update his camera plots. At one point he insisted that he would not do a walk through of the set to make sure that the angles and lenses were correct because it was the directors job. I don't care who's job it is, if he has the time and the opportunity to check anyones work and cover his own ass . . . JUST DO IT.

Every night this week the cast has been in to run through the script and work on their acting. First my frustration- we don't have a good place to work with talent. The production office is grose, dirty has a low ceiling and bad lighting. I am also pissed off because every single chair in that entire place has been painted on and has crap all over it. Give me a break.

I wanted to work in one of the classrooms, but we can't without an instructor present, that sucks. We arn't even allowed on the sound stage. We use the sound stage anyway and the show goes on. It is easier to ask for forgiveness than to beg for permission. Anyway the door is really easy to pick when locked. Thank you very much.

Thursday night casting, my Excitement- I laughed till I was blue. This is when it all pays off. If the shoot goes to shit I will at least know that we had fun with this script. Each character brings something awesome to the story. Every character is thier character, they don't need to act. My favorite is Victoria Milosyvik (Don't know how it spell it), she has this thick romainian accent, and when she says her lines I am reminded of a bond villain. Atrius played by Dylan is also extremely funny, his voice just kills me, it is so high!

Anyway, um everything seems to be going ok. I just need to re-motivate my crew and get them working on finishing this set. There are a few major things on my to do list that need to be locked down. The blood gag is one major concern. We have come a long way with its design but it still needs to be completed and tamed. We decieded to use fruit juice, won't stain the skin, looks red and it is viscos enough for the mechanism. I had forgotten about the blood gag in the body bag, at this point I would choose not to have a blood gag here. Too messy. Unless someone can come up with a good solution.

There is more to say, just give me a moment, for now this is posted.
