My english teacher is an indie rock fan and she handed me an album to listen to and analyze for homework tonight. The music is ok, the singer sucks, but the lyrics are awesome... here is a little of it
I saw her at the party pit
she was shaky but still trying to shake it

I saw him at the riverbank
he ws breaking bread and giving thanks
with crosses made of pipes and planks
leaned up against the nitrous tanks
he said take a hit
hold ur breath and I'll dunk your head
then when u wake up again
u'll be high as hell
and born again
this is sooo awesome! If you didn't notice "breaking bread and giving thanks" alludes to Jesus when he breaks the bread with the apostles. Take a hit and I'll dunk your head alludes to the Baptism ritual that some churches do as they dunk your head in water. Also, born again alludes to the salvation of Jesus that makes us "born again." This is not a chritian band but its so cool becasue all of their lyrics have SO much allusions of the Bible its incredible. good stuff
The rest is self explanatory and is also pretty cool. Its too bad this vocalist sucks cuz it makes it a drag to listen to, but every single song has amazing lyrics.
