Word is this whole place is an illusion, so I'd take anything with a grain or two of salt.
I had an issue with nightmares before, but its no longer a problem. The other two...its too hard to tell. Probably 'yes' to both.

What did you mean, then? I noticed you tell others they'd know it if they felt it...but given how many different languages we use and different worlds we came from, they still may not notice you're talking of the same thing.

I am inclined to believe that this is the Shadow Realm. Ordinary individuals will experience violent and disturbing hallucinations while trapped inside of it. In addition to this, they will feel themselves weaken to the point of death, while in the world of the living their bodies slip into a coma and slowly die.

I'm inclined to believe this is a plane of existence none of us--except perhaps the crew--were even vaguely familiar with before.
