Puzzle; 003 {it's different from the norm}

I'm afraid that I simply cannot help myself when I say this, how incredibly rude it may seem.

In order to pass this test I must ask for you to first solve this puzzle, if it is within your comprehension of course.

You see before you a series of symbols which must be arranged into the correct order, said order must obey a particular series of rules:
  • The star must be next to the moon.
  • The X must be second from the top.
  • The circle must be somewhere above the diamond.
  • The moon must be located two places below the diamond.

Please lock your answers so others may not cheat if you so wish to prove yourself. Alternatively I would accept an essay on a particular period subject, preferably dated rather than modern.
