Actually I knew that, in retrospect. Once I tried to see if I could power a lightbulb myself, on my own power, but it broke, shattered, and that wasn't much fun.
In theory, but electricity is surprisingly hard to control like that. I always overdo it. It's like there's a certain minimum I have to use, or it won't work.
