[A sharp inhalation of breath through the mouth, barely audible, almost a hiss. When Layton speaks, it starts off in a mildly annoyed tone.]
It's a good thing I was able to insulate against the shock, or it would have been worse. I don't really consider that a proper consequence for inactivity. But I do apologize for my silence over the communications network; I have been investigating and my communicator completely slipped my mind. I don't think I found anything of particular value; the previous culture of Discedo is too similar to my own for artifacts to convey any worthwhile information. Still, I will copy my notes and share them with whoever wants them.
If my absence has caused anyone concern, I do apologize. I'll try to not let it happen again.
