"He's no magic lamp"

... *lol* um.. yeah, I probably should explain this strange title.

I just started reading this mew manga called "Ryo". It's about this teenage girl - Ryo, who was attacked by a strange monk during one of her school trips. This man's name is Benkei and claims to be the man from a popular legend. The story says that during 12th century near the outskirts of Kyoto, Benkei challanged anyone who wanted to pass Gojo Bridge. He defeated many swordsmen and took their swords as trophies. He managed to gather 999 katanas, untill he met his 1000th oponent - Ushiwakamura. Benkei is now after Ryo because he thinks that she's this Ushiwakamura. He challanges Ryo to a fight and discovers that she's actually a girl. During the comotion, the girl manages to defeat Benkei, and thus Benkei swears to become her vassal.

The phrase in the title comes from chapter 2 of the first volume, after Ryo accepts Benkei as her vassal (after he got run over by a car first while protecting her). She dreams up this image of him as her faithful servant who's sort of like the genie in a bottle. But of course it's far from reality. And that's where the line comes in - "He's no magic lamp".

It's a very cute manga. I also probably should mention that fact that Benkei is quite hot *drools* ^_^

Don't you agree?
