IC:

Character name: Hiramaru Kazuya
Fandom: Bakuman
Timeline: The last chapter out as of the time of this app, ie, Bakuman 74
Age: Unprecised, late 20s
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: He is considered a genius when it comes to manga, though he is different from Niizuma. He picked it up and became good at it at an amazing speed, so it would make sense to say he might be able to pick up similar things just as fast.
How would they use their abilities?: He hates to work, so he wouldn't unless forced.
Appearance:
Hiramaru is a tall, kinda lanky-looking guy. He has long black hair that goes down to his shoulders, with bangs over his eyes. Normally, he wears a plain white shirt (with the sleeves pulled back), and black pants with suspenders - this outfit kinda hints that he was too lazy to change his usual outfit from his days as an office worker. He seems to dress up better when he wants to seduce a girl (for example, wearing a suit when he thought he could get Aoki-ko's attention).

Background/Personality:

Not much is known about Hiramaru from the time before he started drawing manga. He used to have an office job, until the faithful day he picked up a copy of Shonen Jump. Having a moment of realization (or most likely, thinking that he could get by doing less work), he decides to quit his job and starts drawing manga. He gets an important award with his first submission, and it isn't long before he gets serialized with his series- Otter 11! Otter men go beat up evil people and change the world! His series is particularly famous for his memorable lines.

The most important characteristic about Himaruma's personality is that he is lazy. When he first meets Ashirogi Mutou, he tells them he wishes he had been born a panda in the zoo, so the only thing he would have to do is eat and sleep, and be taken care of. It is clear that when he changed his profession, he was not expecting to deal with weekly deadlines and around the clock work (at one point, he actually rues his decision, commenting that at least at his old job, he got weekends off). It is pretty common for Himaruma to escape his studio and visit some other mangaka's, hanging there until his editor comes pick him up and force him to work.

Hiramaru is very prone to exaggerations, and somewhat of an opportunist. Whenever he doesn't want to do work, he claims to be severely sick and that he should take a break- for example, he attempts to get off work by telling the doctor the stress had him peeing blood ("but because nothing happened at his office, he just gave me some medicine"). He also looks for every opportunity he has to get off work. Part of the reason why he decided to join the boycott against the Editor-in-chief when Mashiro was in the hospital was because he thought he could get a few days off like that (he was disappointed when everybody agreed that they would keep drawing). His editor calls him out on his opportunism.

Hiramaru is also very easily manipulable, which is something his editor (Yoshida) loves as it is the only way to get him to do work. Many times Yoshida has gotten him to finish a chapter or a name by telling him he will introduce him to girls. When he declares he wants to seduce Aoki-ko, Yoshida gives him a necklace that he had bought for his wife, who would WANT him to have it, just so he would be able to work and concentrate on his manga with a good incentive. Yoshida is also the one who convinces Hiramaru to buy a Porsche and get an apartment - he doesn't realize until later, when Shujin mentions it, that this is a way to get him to keep working, as he will have to keep up with the payments.

In spite of the previous paragraphs, Hiramaru is not all bad. His manga deals with wanting to change the world, so there is at least some hints that he is not completely uninterested in everything that is not resting or finding a girl to date. Similarly, although he appears to be ridiculously unmotivated, the moment he finds out he is getting an anime he cheers up, and claims he will be motivated to draw for a whole year (though it definitely won't last as long). When the editor-in-chief tells Mashiro that he's putting their manga on hiatus after Mashiro got sick, mostly because his uncle is Kawaguchi Taro (a mangaka who overworked himself to death), Hiramaru is legitimately angered and stands up the editor, disgusted at his excuses, and it even motivates him to go draw manga.

1st person sample:
Blown up? What do you mean, Earth is blown up? But everybody there... AND MY PORSCHE!!

I knew it, I knew it, this kind of thing always happens to me. It was not enough that I had to somehow get serialized and ended up working gruesome hours. Now Earth has been blown up, and who knows what happened to everyone else. This is why I wanted to be born a panda in the zoo!! Then I wouldn't have to care about this!!

Wait, wait, maybe there's a good side to this. There's not a Shonen Jump in space, is there? This means I don't have to worry about those stupid deadlines anymore! Goodbye, chains of oppression! Goodbye, extreme unnecessary work! I wonder if Niizuma or those guys are here... And Aoki-ko! Maybe if the two of us were strayed here...!

3rd person sample:

Hiramaru wasn't sure what he was facing.

It looked like an indescribable, disgusting blob with a third eye on his nose- and for some reason, it was wearing a suit. Hiramaru gulped, feeling the color drain from his face. Why did this kind of thing always to him? He was always getting the short stick of everything, first with working on manga (which turned out to be exhausting) and now with the world blowing up? And, after being forced down a damn hall, run into a scary-looking alien? No, Hiramaru definitely thought there was something or someone against him.

He gulped as the... thing stared at him (or seemed to stare at him, it was hard to tell). What was the thing they said about bears? Pretend to be dead?? Or was it make a lot of noise? As Hiramaru went through the different possibilities in his mind, the... thing went close to him (he held his breath as the thing breathed on his face, but he couldn't help the look of disgust).

"W-What is it!?" he said, not really meaning to sound quite on edge as he had.

The thing stared at him for a few seconds, before it started saying Hiramaru didn't really understand. But before he fainted, filled with an indescribable feeling, he thought it sounded like it rhymed.

Questions?: None for now!
