Change is upon us.
I am not American. I did not have the right to vote for the next leader of the United States.
somehow I feel relieved --- alright, happy. I am happy Barack Obama won the presidency in this year's elections, and hope he makes good of the change he promises he will make.
On the other hand, I feel a bit afraid of what he could do to the outsourcing industry in the Philippines. the call center industry has pretty much brought fresh air, new blood to our dying economy. (on a personal note, I feel a bit scared for James and a few of my othe relatives who work in this field.) On the other hand, a bit of research tells me that it has a high chance of not really being all to catastrophic for a number of reasons -- it's good for both our economies, it keeps prices down, and the business-heads of theses companies will still have the final say. It's a comfort.
I feel somehow excited about the changes Obama may bring to the USA. I just hope it bodes well for the rest of the world too.
