Okay, so I should probably have written about this yesterday, but I guess my brain is still processing all the excitement for Genshin Impact Version 5.0 which will be live on 28th August. So yesterday, I was completely surprised to see Genshin Version 5.0 Livestream airing on YouTube in the afternoon, because they usually do it at 8pm (UTC+8 time) on Fridays 2 weeks before the next patch is out.
By the time I started watching it, they were beginning to show the Natlan Symphony Orchestra, where the musicians were going to play a couple of Natlan OSTs. Naturally, I left the video on while I do my work...but man, the battle theme is so beautiful that I immediately looked at the screen in awe. I know the orchestra performance from Genshin has always had high production value but wow, the team just keeps on producing beautiful music each time they release a new nation, like, more beautiful than the previous ones, every single time.
Anyway, enough of that, I just want to compile my favourite Genshin Battle Theme here (in ascending order btw), just for fun. So without further ado, let's dive into it.

8) Photon of Fluctuation - Mondstadt Battle Theme I
This is basically the battle theme that started it all. The reason this theme is included in my list is largely due to nostalgia. I started playing Genshin in late 2020 when my sister invited me to check it out, thinking that I will probably love the game. And love the game I did, as I was in awe and mesmerized by the open world aspect the first time I played it. I was even so excited that I could interact with some items and can climb the trees and swim in the waters. Mind you, I had played a number of games prior to playing Genshin, but there was just something magical about it when I play as the Traveler for the first time.

7) Duel in the Mist - Inazuma Battle Theme IV
This just sticks in my head for some reason probably because of how intense it is. It gives me images of 2 samurai facing off and do their respective swift slashes and quick moves. That's probably it...but I know I love it when this battle theme is on whenever I'm out fighting monsters in Inazuma's overworld.

6) Rapid as Wildfires - Liyue Battle Theme I
Just like Mondstat's battle theme previously, this song is included in the list due to nostalgia. I started to regularly play Genshin since version 1.3 (I think). But I remember finally making my own account and playing it regularly by then. This song just takes me back to those days when they just released the 1st ever Lantern Rite...the days when there were only Mondstat and Liyue on the map and the 1st Lantern Rite was probably the biggest event Genshin offered to the players at that time. So yeah, that's why it's included in my list.

5) Rage Beneath the Mountains - Azhdaha Boss Theme: Phase II
I remember fighting Azdaha for the first time in Zhongli's second story quest and was blown away by how good the 2nd phase theme was. It sounds so majestic, befitting of a dragon who used to be Zhongli's friend, especially when the choir started. And when Azdaha came out as a weekly boss, it was still only version 1.5 and my characters weren't that strong yet so it really hits me just how strong and tough Azdaha was at that time especially when the battle is paired with such an epic theme.

4) Combat Beneath the Waves - Enkanomiya Battle Theme I
Enkanomiya was a lore-heavy region that was released some time in 2.5, if I remember correctly. Now I didn't really look into great detail at all the lore that they included in this area but I remember coming to this area a lot because I was farming for Yae Miko. But anyway, this battle theme is one of my favourites because of just how different the vibe is and paired with Enkanomiya's dark atmosphere, it just made me feel like I'm playing a different game and it was a refreshing experience for me, having had played Genshin for more over a year by then

3) Jolts in the Forest - Sumeru: Dharma Forest Battle Theme IV
So for this one... there's nothing special to it. It's just that it often reminds me of the TV segment in my country, where they announce the breaking fast time during the fasting month 😅. And I think I spent most of my time on Sumeru during the fasting month anyway. So yeah, that's about it

2) Rondeau des fleurs et des rapieres - Fontaine Battle Theme I
This was my number 1 favourite battle theme up until yesterday. I like how it starts off slow, making me feel like a hero taking my steps carefully as I tread into a new area and later on when the rhythm picks up, it makes me realize that we really have come a long way from Mondstat to Fontaine and yet as the Traveler, we must keep on fighting until the end.
But really, every time I hear this theme, I'll always be reminded of how far the Traveler has come and how there are still so many things to see and to fight for.

1) Anthem of the Savannah | Natlan Battle Theme
Now I'm currently obsessed with this battle theme. I can't wait for Natlan to release so I could fight enemies with this song playing in the background. This song makes me tear up especially at the choir part. Much like the Fontaine Battle Theme, this song evokes this feeling of having come a long way and that we're probably closer to the end than we think. In a way, this song just evokes a feeling of finality for some reason to me. I know there's Snezhnaya left and probably more arcs to come, but we are now so close to seeing all the 7 Archons and it seems like there will be a major lore drop in Natlan.
And those are my thoughts on all these songs which I have included in this list.
