i never pack ahead of time
in just 7.5 short hours, i will be heading to the airport to fly to cleveland, ohio. of course, i'm procrastinating. i don't know if it's the cold outside or the snow storms that have plagued new mexico the last few days, but i wish those damned scientists would get off their asses and invent me a transporter so i can just push a button and all my stuff would arrive where i told it to arrive (i am not referring to the one that says "buy now with 1-click" on amazon, which also delivers stuff to where i tell it to arrive with just the press of a button). i'm marveling at the horrific use of various tense (plural = tense? or tenses?) in that sentence.
i will be in the cleveland area for approximately two weeks. i am hoping to avoid large amounts of anything related to work, but i do have a few things to finish up and will probably be doing them over the next few days before i can truly fall into 'vacation mode.' damn you, remote desktop connection.
in the time that i am there, i am planning on seeing assorted family and friends, including the illustrious cynic51, with whom i am looking forward to doing a new year's day radio show on WRUW 91.1 FM. tune in to 'fantasy for transmitter and two hosts' at wruw.org from 2-4pm ET on 1/1/2012, with special guest, me.
so for now, i will go back to updating my iphone, changing out its music (it's time for some serious led zeppelin and barry white), charging my headphones and kindle, and i will think about all of the clothing that i should be packing into various suitcases. i am taking two pieces of luggage. one suitcase is already packed. it contains shoes. oh, and a purse. because a suitcase that exists solely for the purpose of bringing 9 pairs of shoes for a 15 day trip is ridiculous, duh.
