So right after I got back from Anime North, I had gotten a jury duty summons for a three-month trial that just happened to include the period where I'm supposed to go see GazettE in late September. I sent back their juror sign-in form with a note saying I couldn't serve the three-month trial, with a copy of my E-ticket proving that I was scheduled to travel in September. And so, I waited to hear word of whether I had to serve. And waited. And waited.
Today, I FINALLY got word - a week before the trial was going to start - that my jury service has been postponed. Meaning that I will still have to serve a regular one-week jury service at another date (I requested that it be at the end of the year if at all possible), but the three-month trial service has been thrown out. Which means . . . GAZEROCK IS NOT DEAD!!! THE MUNICH TRIP IS BACK ON!!! Um, I may have jumped up and down and punched the air when I got the notice. May have.
I got this news, by the way, after spending the day at the Kutztown Folk Festival, which is an Amish country fair in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country (about two hours from me). I wanted to take my mother there because Lord knows she needed the day out. It was a lot of fun, if hot - they had all kinds of crafter booths, displays of handmade quilts and old steam-powered farm equipment, metalworkers, glass blowers and all kinds of good stuff. Plus, I had a
funnel cake for lunch - not exactly healthy, but pretty goddamn delicious.
Also, I have been making my way through the live DVDs I got recently this holiday weekend. Watched Alice Nine's Court of 9 #4 on the 4th and MELT yesterday. SCREW's Go Into High Gear is up tomorrow (and I have another SCREW live, their latest one, coming at the end of the month! Both ones I watched so far were just as amazing as I expected it to be. It's definitely a testament to GazettE's greatness that they could take stuff that didn't do much for you in its recorded version and transform it into something amazing in live performance (and, let's face it, I think most of the fandom had one or two songs on Division they were meh about - well, at least the part of the fandom that wasn't screaming TEH WHOLE ALBUM IZ TEH SUXXORS OMG!!111!!!11!!). And, oh my God, the Aoi/Ruki kiss was SO adorable - mainly because Ruki had no idea it was coming! ("Wait a second - AOI is doing fanservice with me?") And I liked Best Friends as a closer - it made a nice substitute for the now-apparently-retired Miseinen (though I do hope they revive it just for the Not-Quite-World Tour!)
