Good news - I get to go home tomorrow! The power was restored where I live tonight. It's still going to be a way to go to full recovery - there's still 91% of the town without power - but at least we will get back to some semblance of normal life now ( Read more... )

I'm glad to hear you were able to return home safely! I have quite a few friends who are being severely affected by the hurricane, and it's scary to me to imagine not being able to get gas or be out of power for so long. @_@

Anyways, I'm looking forward to reading your fill for the kink meme, I'm sure it'll be fantastic~ : )

Take care~

Thanks! I actually posted it as a fic to my own journal as well. There's still plenty of areas in my hometown still without power - my office, for one - but it's coming back slowly. Also, some of the gas refineries that were taken offline by the storm are coming back, so hopefully, that will take care of the gas problem.

Bad as my region had it, other areas had it worse. I heard that in some places in the outer boroughs of New York, there's people literally cutting up furniture to burn for warmth. O_O

Slowly but surely, yes. I just want my office to get the power back on - I never thought I'd be anxious to go to work (especially since I'm not too fond of my current job). Thanks!

Thanks! Well, the power is coming back on little by little, and they're starting to reopen the closed oil refineries, which hopefully will relieve the gas shortage situation. We'll be back to almost-normal soon, I hope.

Glad you and your family are ok and able to return to normal. I have followed the news on tv and got some horrible images D:

It was pretty horrible, all right. I still haven't seen the beachfront, and I'm not too sure that I want to, considering what a big part of my life it was. (The arcade where I had my first-ever paying job as a teenager is trashed).
