This has really, REALLY not been a good day for me. I took it off from work (since I didn't get a day during Christmas, other than the holidays themselves, since the other two people in my department both decided to take it off then). The great plan was to take my mother to a local aquarium, which is having a half-price-admission-on-weekdays special throughout January.

Well, first I woke up to the news that David Bowie had died. Heartbreaking in itself - the man was a true legend, and someone who seemed, well, immortal. Bummed out, I headed out the door to go walking in a local mall, since it was cold and windy - only to step on a piece of a porch light that the wind had blown off during the night. My ankle turned, I tried to catch myself so I wouldn't end up on the pavement, and I twisted the knee on the other leg as well. So much for the aquarium.

I got into my car to head for the drugstore and get a brace for the knee and an Ace bandage for the ankle - and a pack of squirrels ran in front of my car. I couldn't brake in time, so I ended up running over a squirrel. Day's just getting better, folks. So my day off was spent lying down with my ankle and knee wrapped up. Not exactly how I wanted to spend it.

On a positive note, GazettE coming to America! I was just going to go to New York, but a Canadian friend invited me to come up to Toronto. So I may be going to both - only doing VIP for one, though, because whoa, expensive! Ticket sales for both cities are Friday, here's hoping my bad luck turns around!
