Your name: Beth
age: 20
reason for LJ username: It's from a song I like. I found the words catchy. Plus it gives me a great excuse for the "Moon Monster" alias.
AIM sn: Same as the LJ.
reason for AIM sn: See above.
do you enjoy reading my LJ: Yes.
why: I like the commentary. Plus I like what you post in the communities we're both in.
interesting fact about you: I made NCAAs in swimming my freshman year. And then quit eight months later.
weird fact about you: I'm a gamer. Of the "let's play pretend" variety. It's a deep dark secret.
quote: "Not giving should be not living." --Kingsley Amis, "Act of Kindness"
will you post this in your LJ: Probably. It went around my friends list a few weeks ago and I forgot to then, heh.

Recommend:
1.a movie: The Third Man, for old flicks. For recent ones, In America or The Triplets of Belleville.
2.a book: Look to Windward by Iain M. Banks
3.an author: Patricia McKillip
4.a musical artist, song, or album: Lene Marlin, or Ephemera. Norwegian pop is fun.
5.an LJ user not on my friends list: Huh. I'm not sure. Maybe dferahgo, old friend of mine.
6. something to do in the next two months: Go walking by a respectably sized body of water before sunrise. We did that along the River Liffey in Dublin. Awesome.

It's a fabulous poem. I think I put it up on GreatPoets a while ago.

Mmm. Mostly White Wolf's World of Darkness series. I dig Changeling: the Dreaming and Mage: the Ascension in particular. (Have never touched Vampire: the Masquerade. Can't seem to get myself interested.) I've also, at the urging of a few friends, started playing in a room based off Marvel comics, roughly run on the MSHAG system. (That stands for something. I'm not geeky enough to remember what. Marvel Super-Hero something-or-other.)

I'm not as into it as some folks--for one, I've never LARPed (Live Action Roleplay) or played in an actual table-top game. Just online. I find it's more of a creative outlet that way. Some folks are waaaaayyy more into it, and know more systems than I ever realized existed.

Heh. It's a fun time. But it so winds up in the "dark little secret" category when you're supposed to be some uber-clever book geek. "What's that book?" "Ummm, nothing. Hey, look over there! Something shiny!"
