Today we head back to sunny AZ from cold & rainy Chicago. I'm so bummed! We ended up.scoring last minute tickets to Sunday's show so we got to see the dismemberment plan twice & I'm so glad we did. Saturday's show is one of the best concerts I've ever seen, which is saying a lot! So freaking amazing. Even better is that I never thought I'd see them so now I can cross them off the list of bands I love but never got to see. So much energy in that room between the crowd & the band...so great!
After all that awesome, however, I am now sad that this thing I've been looking forward to for months is now over and I really may never see them again. There are still tickets for the Seattle show but I know it would be crazy to book another trip to go see them so I need to just stop mulling it over!
Other great things about this trip are seeing so many people from past lives. Hunt out quite a bit with our friends Phill & Becky who we haven't see since their wedding here in 06, my old dj friend from KICB days, Sarah was also great to catch up with, and at the shows we ran into some people from our Iowa State days like Jim Schloemer & Paul Fremeil. And my old roommate Stef too...and this guy Justin I know from going to shows in Iowa City long ago. Seriously saw so many people!
Didn't do much in the way of being touristy this time around so we will have to do that stuff next time. Ah well, still a success!
And now I foresee obsessive d plan listening in my future trying to relive the awesome.
