i've had enough of authoritarian type figures this week, now i dont mean the police cause they have the jurisdiction to be arseholes but im talking about bouncers & fricken met cops. i hate the fact that they think their shit dont stink and they can do what they like to people.
so i was fined $170 for having a small portion of my feet on the seats whilst travelling to the city with bangers a few months back. now there are no signs on the train stipulating that you will be fined for committing this offence it just says 'thank you for your cooperation'. Any normal person would concieve from this sign that a warning would be issued for such behaviour but nooo the met cops on power trips have to slap us with a massive fine that i just cant afford to pay and refuse to do so as a matter of principle. I sent a letter to connex in protest of the fine stating my above points as well as pointing out that i am dissatisfied with the transport service connex provide all to no avail. Because i 'broke the law' and my letter doesnt satisfy them i have been ordered to give them money or face court action. To be honest i dont give a fuck, they can take me to court there is no way in hell that i am paying this fine and i will keep sending protest letters until i am finally excused or taken to court, whichever comes first. This is not about having my feet on the seats anymore, it is about a company with a big ego thinking it can pressure a young person into coughing up the cash and it's not going to happen. Perhaps if they provided a proper service i would be more willing to comply but every train i catch is either delayed or overcrowded and when you live on the frankston line there is also the threat of violence. So maybe connex should direct their attention to providing commuters with a safe and reliable form of transport instead of picking on the youth and going on massive power trips.
