Can I just say that San Francisco is a beautiful city at a beautiful location with beautiful architecture? Because if there was ever a case for the usage of a neutron bomb, this city would take the prize. The people here are just awful. You can't walk down the street without an assemblage of homeless people bothering you, or crazy people yelling out at you or their neighbours, and being smelly or nappy or whatnot. A homeless cat being carried on a leash? Nasty skeevy college age white kids dirty and with dreadlocks and no future? Yeah, it's all here. We went to the federal building for a briefing today, a Sunday. Yeah, a car (possibly one of ours) had its window smashed and stuff possibly stolen. Ugh, someone please just guide me back to the good places....
On a more positive note, I did finally ride a cable car for the first time in my life, although getting back was a whole other awful ordeal (see parts of above paragraph). Walking is tiring when you're not in a museum and have to take wide paths to avoid beggars....
