Back when I was a manager at a convenience store, I amused myself when I found myself irritatingly thinking that if it weren't for the customers, I'd get some work done.
Today, I found myself thinking that I didn't mind helping out the agents on the East Coast, except for the callers.
Is there a rule that people in New Jersey HAVE to be rude? I know it's rough there, but really... the person on the phone may just be doing everything they can for you.
I won't say I'm a perfect customer, but even when I'm irritated, I try not to take it out on the person trying to help me. Usually, they can do very little themselves outside of what they are already doing to help me.
Face it, folks. The last person you will reach on the phone is the Top Guy (or Gal). Don't cuss, berate or abuse the person on the phone. Don't even apologize for cussing and then keep doing it.
Whoops, there I go on the litany again...
