Wild Weekend

I had too much weekend. It was spectacular.

Tim came up from Maryland Friday night after work and kidnapped me back to Silver Spring. We enjoyed all my crazy music on the way down and thankfully didn't hit any of the traffic he saw on the way up. Unfortunately, we got down there so late there wasn't really anything to do so we passed out rather promptly instead of going to this little Brittingham's-esque Irish pub downtown he wanted to drag me to.

Saturday morning came way too soon, and Tim made me pancakes because he's a pimp like that, and we watched Time Bandits and nerded out hardcore online before we realized what time it was and decided to get the hell going and go out. It was gorgeous outside when we were getting ready, but by the time we got to the car, it was pissing like crazy outside, so all the plans of going to the zoo and checking out Georgetown were pretty well smashed. So instead, we settled on going to Barnes and Noble--where I found out the hard way that my paycheck wasn't going to go through until Monday by NOT being able to purchase a huge H.R. Giger book, a book about male/female double standards, and James St. James' Disco Bloodbath post-movie reprint--and getting some coffee, then enjoying some dinner at the TGI Friday's down the street. We stopped off at the liquor store to get some more rum, and because Tim felt bad about me not being able to get money out to buy a bottle of REAL ABSINTHE, he got a bottle of vanilla vodka so I could make us Mad Cows. We reconvened back at the apartment and I tortured him with Ichi the Killer while we proceeded to get smashed beyond belief, and then he treated me to Idiocracy, which is fucking hilarious if you haven't seen it. After that, drinking continued and we started to fall asleep watching the Bob Saget Roast, so we just decided to call it a night. I slept like a fucking BABY.

We were dispicably lazy this morning. Slept in, reheated leftover pancakes, zoned out on the computer while we took turns hopping in the shower and washing the drunk stink off, then hunkered down on the couch and let about 3 or 4 movies go by on TV while we went in and out of napping. Since we're both old and cranky and tired, we wanted to leave sometime in the afternoon to get me home in time to get Tim BACK home in time to at least get some sleep for work tomorrow, and time to wake up, pack, and take off came up and smacked us on the ass pretty fast. The car ride home was fun; more totally crazy music (including TSOL's "Code Blue" literally BLARING while we went through the Maryland/Delaware tolls, which made the tollbooth guy give us the best look in the world), a stop off at Maryland house for some Starbucks and Sbarro and jokes about Tim leaving me there and just going the fuck home to sleep, and talk of what we were going to do the next time we hung out, and when. We made pretty good time at just around 3 hours of drive time, getting to my place at around quarter of 8, and he came in to BS with Mom and myself, took a couple of pictures onnomnoming each other's faces off outside, and then I bid him a fond farewell and came in for my beloved jammies and some tea.

I had a great time. I thought I was going to, and I did. It was nice to get away and just forget shit for a while, it was cleansing, put me in a fantastic mood. Craziest thing, though...Tim knows Amber. He's known Amber for years. Yes, THAT Amber...from Georgia. We spent the majority of the weekend, once we figured out we both knew her and how, trying to think up all the awful things we could say to her about us hanging out and all the reasons we shouldn't say them. But we're evil, and one of us is bound to say something to her, especially because he missed a text from her saying, "I miss you, bratface!" while he was on his way up to PA to pick me up. Small fucking world, I'll tell you.

Anyway...that was fun. Now it's time to resume being scared shitless of the audit my office is having tomorrow. Wish me luck!
