Well, my poor little abused ThinkPad T30 finally died. I fell asleep on my left side which was my wrong side and my laptop slid to its doom and devastation on my bedroom floor. Thump. Bye bye functionality of hard drive. Fortunately for me and dear lappy, my three years of warranty had not yet run out! So, off to IBM he went to get... A NEW C DRIVE! Yay! With all luck it will now run faster and bug-free! Won't that be a pleasant surprise! Only pain in the bum is that for some reason there was no sticker of Windows XP authentication *evil glares at the guy who sold it to me* so I have had to steal mum's version, and pity help us if she ever needs to reboot! Lappy is currently at the puter-fix-it-upy-get-it-running place where it is getting all it's drivers updated/installed/re-installed/I don't know what. In short, it is too stupid to realise that we have an incredibly fast wireless internet connection so it needs me (mum rather) to pay money to a man to tell it that it really *does* know that we have exceptionally (ok fine, it's slow once it gets through my three-four year old laptop!) fast internet and that it does in fact want to access it with minimal fuss! Until then, and then some, I shall be scathing of the internet... the study computer just isn't the same!
In other news, I am enjoying my holidays and continuing along a nice little creative streak; I have to date a handmade period bonnet (I even braided the raffia) in need to trimming (work in progress), a teal green knee length gathered peasanty circle skirt with classily unfinished edges made out of a teal green double bed valance including zip (*puffs up chest with pride*), a white full length peasantish skirt made out of a white double bed fitted sheet (was finished but is in need of some reconstructive surgery after getting caught in an escalator and having the bottom tier extracated in order to prevent spreading of a phenominal amount of escalator grease...), a half finished non-working satin nightie (learning curve I tells ya!), a latch-hooked picture of a cat and a dog (to be turned into a cushion at some point in time), a half finished cross-stitch of a cat in a hammock, half finished baby pink pencil-pleated box skirt, the pending and currently unsuccessful/unstarted project of creating clothes for two teddy bears, not to mention various bits and pieces of mending and a whole pile of bad drawings! Yay!
Well, what else is there? Hmm... should just casually slip it in somewhere I suppose... make it look like it doesn't matter when it does...
Oh yeah, and I've been chatting online/on the phone/smsing 'this guy' for a little while (months-ish?)... he's really nice and he's coming down to Victoria from Tasmania after Christmas! Make what you will of it! *grins*
