Just got back from our yoga class and we had the drill sergeant teacher today. She turned the heat up so high I had to do everything I could to keep from running out of there screaming. It had to be well over 100 in there. But that is why I do it. I need something that will push myself and take myself away from being comfortable. All day I walk and sit and its a perfect temperature. But how can you really live or really feel unless you can test the limits of your mind and body? This practice takes me to the edge of what I can physically do every time, I think nothing of work or problems, just focusing on my ability to go beyond what I thought was possible. I imagine it is a similar concept to suspensions, realizing the limits or non-limits of what you can do.. It also reminds me that life is not easy and nothing comes easy, everything worth having requires hard work and patience.
In July, they are doing Asthanga yoga by the ocean in Avalon. I really want to go, but I'm afraid of, as
Crudelia puts it, "the damned ball of fire" against my pale skin. The class is a 2 hour intensive from 10AM to 12:00. Anyone know the highest possible number sunblock they make now?
I am absolutely in LOVE with my new Oil 10 CD, Arena. It is some of the most intelligent and beautiful sounds I have ever heard. I highly recommend it. I would *love* to take some sort of chemical stimulation and sit in a dark room and listen to it.
So Eric and are planning our vacation time for the rest of the year and it looks like we're doing a short Pennsic in August, Germany/Amsterdam in November to visit Tom, Nadine, Crudelia, friends and Valerio. And then my Italian princess from Rome is coming to visit me after Christmas! I am so excited for that!!! She is turning out to be so special and I can't wait to show her everything here and introduce her to everyone because this will be her first time ever in the US. Then next year we will visit her in Rome!!!
