Better Late than Never
Ha! Sorry if my super long mini-novel post wrecked your friends' list. This one will be much shorter, I promise!
Over the course of this election, I donated periodically to Obama's campaign. Never very much, usually around $25 each time. I made one of these contributions in early September when they were offering people a Obama-Biden car magnet with every donation over $20. I didn't donate at that time just to get the car magnet but it was a nice little bonus; I really looked forward to getting it and slapping it on my Beetle.
A week passed. Then two. Then a month.
It never arrived but it didn't bug me too much. I figured that my information was lost in the shuffle or the mail got lost along the way; my main concern was that Obama win the election, not getting my car magnet.
November 4th. Obama wins. Words are inadequate to describe the pure joy I felt when the election was called for him. November 5th. My car magnet arrives in the mail.
I laughed for about five minutes and, this morning, I slapped it on my car. The election might be over but I'm going to drive around with my car magnet for at least one day, dammit!
