NaNoEdMo... conquered!

Well, at the last minute, I decided that no, actually it was very important to me that I finish NaNoEdMo this year. Very, VERY important. 15 hours in three days important. For someone who turns into a crabby bitch if she's forced to edit more than two hours a day, this is practically suicide. But I was strong. I was bored at work. I could do it!

The universe mocks my pain. No sooner had I made this vow, but I came down with an ear infection. So it was off to the doctor, and then to the pharmacy for antibiotics, wasting a large portion of my first day. I felt really feverish and awful that day, which just made things harder.

But lo, at 11:30pm on the last day of March, I have completed NaNoEdMo! 50 hours of editing, and I'm almost done with the monster edit that is eating my soul. Only another year or five of editing, and the novel will be ready to submit somewhere! I might even manage it before I'm 90!

(God I hate this novel. Who told me that it'd be a good idea for me to write a novel? I blame them.)

So now, I get a much, much, MUCH needed two day vacation to try and recover my health and let my ear heal. Then I troop back to the doctor when it isn't any better and whine at her. Then I take stronger antibiotics and puke a lot in April. WHEE!

Life is such a joy.
