Spent this AM looking over my preferred blends for notes I seem to like, and apparently I like:
Milk, cream,saffron, amber, honey, orange, sandalwood, lemongrass, rose,
violet, lavender, lotus, apricot, peach, champagne, strawberry, vanilla...we are not surprised.
I think my system, which has and is evolving is to find:
My _________________ scent."
My orchid, sandalwood, rose..."
So far I have found my Violet...Possets Silver Violets.
My Honey is Haee's Honey Pot
My orchid may be BPAL's Shadow Witch Orchid, I'm not sure yet. I'm not
as in love with Lillium Inter Spinas, and while I like Artiztic Orchids
and Tea, they seem to be a problematic company...
I don't know enough to know the difference between say "gilded" or
"smoked" vanilla. Could you torture a vanilla until I hated it, probably.
Do I love all vanilla scents, no.
While I love, love, love, jasmine EO, even in an affordable diluted form,
BPAL's jasmine will kill any scent for me. Jasmine needs to smell like it does in tea.
Patchouli is an everlasting, absolute no.
Likewise anything too smokey and earthy. BPAL"S Jazz Funeral, New Orleans, Anubis, Baron Samedi...no.
We all know anything I deem masculine is a NO. Leather? No.
Scents I love irrevocably?
BPAL:
Mouse's Long and Sad Tale Almost Voodoo Punani like in its power,
but power of a different quality.

I eagerly await BPAL's Namaste. I've wanted to try that since October
...Sandalwood, jasmine, rose, patchouli, cedarwood and lemongrass. Hopes the patchouli is
very quiet... and
HAEE's Black Cat Buttercream FO, Antique Patchouli EO, Sandalwood EO and
Orange Blossom EO (Our top seller!) I know what I said about
Patchouli, but I adore HAEE and all the other notes, so I am crossing
my fingers.
I love,love,love lemongrass and lemon verbena. Only good for daytime,
but still. Especially with lavender. I should see if I can come up
with something for summer in that vein...
If something is rose, vanilla, jasmine, I'm just entranced. Candle,
incense, room spray...its ummm, embarassing. I huff it like an addict.
Dior and Bulgari are my favorite Department store perfumers, and Thierry
Mugler, but I seem to be happy with whatever samples my daddy brings me.
I do have some full sized bottles of J'adore, Rose et Violettes, and Tendre
Poison, but I've had these for years.
I also love Bath and Body Works Midnight Pomegranate. Love it. That's my pom.
Their Orchid smells chemically to me.
Crabtree and Evelyn discontinued Savannah Gardens a spicy jasmine scent that I
adored, and wore the whole time we studied Tennessee Williams in college. I swear
Blanche and Maggie would smell like that...
Hmmm I had more thoughts on this than I thought I would have...
