no more endless bombing runs, no more embedded reporters
the looting's winding down, there's no doubt who's been winning
now it's all about money, seventy million is the beginning

gasoline is getting cheaper, stocks are coming back
only a hundred people died, unless you count the other side
the dixie chicks were anti-war, now nobody cares
a culture got destroyed, treasured art was in tears

i wonder if i'd feel the same, if we did it all again
am i numb enough to change the channel, decide it's not our problem
so many stupid people, on all the sides involved
no one left to trust, in the divided world evolved
