GO FROM THIS:
   TO THIS:
 in ELEVEN steps. =D

Program: PS7 (should be translatable.)

Other note(s): This may not work on every picture, I suppose it depends on what the original image looks like. =)

STEP ONE:

Crop your image down to 100x100 pixels

STEP TWO:

Duplicate your image and set it to screen at 100% opacity

STEP THREE:

Create a new layer and fill it with F69679 and then set it to darken at 100% opacity

STEP FOUR:

Go back to your original image and duplicate it and set it to screen 100% opacity

STEP FIVE:

Again, duplicate your original image and drag to the top and then set it to overlay 100% opacity

STEP SIX:

Create a new layer and fill it with 0D004C and then set it to exclusion at 100% opacity

STEP SEVEN:

Duplicate your original image again and drag it to the top and set it to screen 100% opacity

STEP EIGHT:

Create a new layer and fill it with 6DF687 and then set the layer to colourburn at 38% opacity (or, whatever looks best to you. =) )

STEP NINE:

AGAIN, duplicate your original image and set it to overlay at 100% opacity

STEP TEN:

And finally I wrote "ian" on the icon (The font I used, if you're wondering, was ANG HAND which I found HERE just scroll down and look out for a font that says ang hand. =) )

STEP ELEVEN:

and for the last step, take THIS light texture and put it under your TEXT layer, and you're done!! =D

ALSO, if you'd like to show me your results from the tutorial feel free to post them in a comment as I would love to see any! =D
