I overslept this morning and woke up at 11. After spending about 45 minutes with my critters and then eating a breakfast, I got to work on my opera outfit. I made the vest in just about 4 hours. I had to take a squirrel break midway through its completion.
The opera was lovely. It was a very well-written comedy. Lots of puns, double-entendres, and physical humor. Its composer was sitting a few seats over and a row behind me. I didn't realize that until the curtain call.
I was hoping to learn a few pointers from Casanova vis a vis women; his approach would certainly not go over well in this day and age. However, his advice to the newly married couple is timeless and sums up how I try to approach life:
Live, love and most importantly, love living.
After the opera I went to Mancini's and had the best steak sandwich I had ever eaten in my life. It was SO good. By the time I got there I was famished. All I had eaten all day was that bowl of cereal just before noon. When I get involved with sewing projects, I tend to focus on them rather intently.
Ran into both Bill Myers and Brian Fogarty at the opera. They're professors at St. Kate's.
I should have taken a picture of my outfit before the opera. The creases in the vest happened after hours of being seated.
