39 Direct a play in the Bedlam Community 10-minute play festival
12 Leg press 500# x 6

The 10-minute play festival was a success. There were a couple moments when I was very worried and didn't think that I'd be able to pull it off. Having to replace the lead actor the day before our first rehearsal was the first scary moment, and then finding out that the stage would have levels instead of being flat forced me to redo most of my blocking. The entire cast wasn't able to rehearse on the stage until 1 hour prior to opening night, and we were able to have only 2 full-cast rehearsals prior to then anyway. Exciting, no? But that's one of the reasons I love theater. Each performance was better than the last, and their closing night show was fantastic! As luck would have it, that was the show that was being recorded, so I'll be able to purchase a DVD of it soon. I'll post photos in a couple days too. I had a terrific cast who were dedicated and worked hard. I will likely participate again next year.

Today I decided to increase the weights on all my exercises and I inadvertently met another one of my goals. Instead of leg-pressing 500# six times, I pressed 505# eleven times! My legs are stronger than I had realized. I had been using between 320-390# up until tonight. I'm 15# shy of both my butterfly and bicep curl goals (#4 & #18).

I now let Pierogi run free in the room for extended periods of time. This weekend I let her run amok for 12 hours on both Saturday and Sunday. She's gotten pretty cuddly too. When I go into the room, she'll run to me and climb up my leg. I put a running wheel in her cage and she actually uses it! From this I learned that she wakes up around 5am. I need to figure out a way to silence the wheel.

I was uncharacteristically social this weekend too. I had no plans on Friday save for karaoke. The bar was deserted, so I took that opportunity to try songs that I knew wouldn't go over if there had been others there. I did "Tales of Brave Ulysses" by Cream, "Hey Man Nice Shot" by Filter, and "The End" by the Doors. All were pretty good and I'll keep them in reserve. Saturday was closing night at Bedlam. I watched Set D and Set B of the play festival (got a double dose of sillycecelia that way) then went to the graduation party of a St. Kate's alumna. On Sunday I stopped at a BBQ prior to going in for squirreling then went to a bon voyage party afterward. There I got roped into a game of Cranium which I had never played before. My partner and I, however, dominated the game. We later discovered that we were both from Chicago so we probably had a mental connection. For the most part we got each others' clues within seconds.

I baked diet bacon brownies for Jake's annual Meat Feast. They were diet brownies because I used only 1 cup instead of 1.5 cups of sugar in them. At the feast I had smoked trout, jerk chicken wings, lamb ribs, pork ribs and pulled pork in addition to some delicious salads. You know, maybe all that meat yesterday is the reason I was able to lift so much today... Anyway, after the feast I went to Open Eye to see their current show, Dummy: A Display. It was fantastic! I love the work that they do. I was surprised to see Deb from Bedlam in the show. She was subbing for another Bedlamite, Telsche, who was in Alaska.

So yeah - 4 parties in 3 days. That's a record for me. Not bad for an introvert.

Busy week ahead - I'm photographing two dance performances, going to a "welcome home" party, participating in a bar crawl (my first one) and seeing the new Workhaus show, 800 Words.
