My day at the Fair

Sep 04, 2004 00:02

Today, I
went to the

There I saw some llamas

Artsy stuff my friends made

A parade

A scary taffy pulling machine

Scary Republicans

A talent show

And I wrapped up the night by going to the Shawn Colvin concert

Some observations:
  • It was chilling to see so many Bush/Cheney buttons.  All sorts of people were wearing them.  Today was National Public Radio Day.  Is there a correlation or was this merely a creepy coincidence?
  • What's with all the white people wearing "Viva Bush" buttons?
  • Upper back and lower back tattoos are utterly passé.  Even farm girls have them now.
  • mmmm... ice cream
  • I really hate eating while walking around. Happily I found the State Fair's only sit-down restaurant unfortunately named "The Peg."
  • Whoever scheduled the Teen Stage must be completely clueless. They booked the most white-bread hip-hop dance act ever. Think "Up With People" doing hip-hop and you'll have an idea of what they were like. The Hip-Hop Co-op should have been there instead.
  • Although he's a good musician, Scott Laurent really doesn't belong on the teen stage either
