in nj, only the strong survive shows at the house of blues.
so ive been home in northfield for the last 3 days, and tomorrow I go back to DC. Its so weird how little the switch between college routine and home routine can easily be made. I was on route 9 driving along and I realized just a few hours before I was walking down 21st street looking at big tall buildings. And there is no adjustment needed for me. I dont know what that means, or if it doesnt mean anything. But I do know that I will be really sad when I officially pack up my dorm room in May and come home for the summer. Which is a complete 180 from last year. I will actually cry this time when I leave my dorm and the friends Ive made; its been a wonderful and enlightening year.
But anyway, tonight I saw Taking Back Sunday with underoath and Armor for Sleep at the house of blues in AC. My god I have been living in luxury with the 930 club and the concert-goers of DC. The HOB is nice and has a lot of space, but the peoplel there were such shitheads that I almost wanted to leave. Not only were 90% of the people drunk off their heads, but the others were starting fights and talking as loud as they could over the music. I guess since at the 930 club I usually stand and watch on the balcony, where there is no pushing, no shoving, no drunken shitheads causing fights (save for that one time at starting line last may when some asshole called john a faggot) Im just not used to being shoved around and trying to make sure my eyes dont get poked out by fucking guidos who decided it was the cool thing to do to come to a show, get drunk, and then dance like the people they see only dumber and more violent. Honestly I almost punched like 10 people. But with all this complaining I still had a great time and both taking back sunday and armor for sleep put on a fantastic show. But I think I will stick to the 930 club when I have the option.

I saw 300 and the Namesake this weekend. My favorite book and a great history story all in one weekend! In 2 weeks from now Larry David comes to GW! how awesome is that? I hope to meet him and charm him with my jewishness so he will leave his wife and marry me.
I have so much work to do for the next 2 days. meh

This summer Im staying in DC for 2 weeks and going on a dig in Alexandria. We are digging up the freedmens cemetary! I am really excited! And then In August I hopefully go abroad to Israel for 5 months! (I just need to get in!)
