Title: The Worst Kind of Foreplay
Author: purplesephone
Length: One-Shot
Pairing: JaeMin
Genre: More Steamy Fluff
Rating: A Steamy PG-13 for some language and some...fun situations.
Summary: Jaejoong lets his guard down and possibly reveals too much in the presence of Min's adorableness.

In his mind at least, their friendship had taken a dramatic and unexpected turn for the worse.

Not worse as in terrible. Very much the opposite. They had become so close, and comfortable with each other, that they had shed that awkward innocence of their initial relationship, when you fought with yourself to carry on a conversation, when meals were eaten in uncomfortable silence, when you struggled to find something in common. They were past that now. Years of being together 24/7 can do that to a handful of people.

Somewhere along the way, both their personal friendship and their relationship had matured, but they were still in this gray area - of wanting to be true to themselves, their families and each other, but at the same time, their hearts (and biology) were screaming to do the opposite - no matter what SM Entertainment had to say.

Jaejoong had no problem admitting that he was physically attracted to the younger boy. That much was painstakingly obvious. He knew he loved him for a variety of reasons -- one of them just happened to be in a different way that he loved his other three friends. And he knew he was in love with him for many more reasons other than the fact that he was handsome - but to admit that he didn’t sometimes dream about…say, what he looked like underneath his clothes, or perhaps even if they let their relationship go to the next level, would be ridiculous. He'd be in severe denial, and that, Jaejoong was sure, he most certainly was not. Of course not. He was human after all.

And Changmin was incredibly sexy, but part of what made him this way wasn't physical in nature. It was the fact that he was so completely clueless of how attractive he was that made him even more irresistible. Sometimes he would wear t-shirts from American Apparel with a deep v-neckline and just seeing that slice of skin would fill Jaejoong's dreams - of his reddish-tan skin he had stolen glances at when he’d leaned forward, unwittingly showing off his left pectoral; of the sinewy bulge of his biceps when he held him ridiculously tight at the airport like he’d never see Jaejoong again; of how flat and muscular his stomach was becoming when Jaejoong would see it flash by him as Changmin walked back to his room after showering.

Damn him and his sudden (and rather unexpected) addiction to working out. But if the boy put his mind to something, you can damn well be sure he will see it through to the end.

So Jaejoong was left to lust after his youngest brother, closest friend, and unexpected love interest in a way that at times even made himself blush.

Example: Changmin is naturally sight deficient, and wears glasses. For the most part now, he wears contacts, because it is what's expected of him. But of all of the members of the group, Changmin has the least problem with wearing his glasses. He had to be the least self-councious person Jaejoong had ever met.

Jaejoong could see his reasoning, however, if for sneaky personal reasons. He always thought Changmin looked adorable in his glasses, and rather intelligent (not to say that he wasn’t always intelligent, he just thought the glasses enhanced that appeal). He had no problem telling him so, even when he’d modestly disagree.

Case in Point: Changmin recently got himself a pair of black, square-rimmed Armani glasses, and he convinced the stylist, begrudgingly, to let him wear them to a recent event rather than wear contacts. And suddenly, as they stood there on the red carpet, Jaejoong found himself struck by how attractive Changmin was in them. He knew it was bad timing, but he just couldn’t stop staring at him, and it made Jaejoong more than a little flustered.

Because Min is Min, he was confused and asked Jaejoong if everything was alright. Hyung, you look vacant, he had said, softly. He was always so polite, to him anyway (Junsu was not always as lucky). Jaejoong said sure, but in his head, he couldn’t stop thinking rather private things about how sexy Changmin looked. It disturbed even him.

After the show, at the afterparty, they were dancing together, and maybe you can chalk it up to it being a long night, but Jaejoong threw all caution to the wind and kissed Min square on the jaw in the middle of the club. He was clearly surprised and caught off guard, but didn’t pull away, he just stared back at Jaejoong, searching. Jaejoong tried to smile warmly, innocently, but a part of him worried he'd given away too much.

The sick part was, Jaejoong almost didn’t care because the young man in front of him had this kind of magnetism that drew him in like a moth to a flame. If he couldn’t give in to all of his senses, at least let him indulge in this one. Just once. A small spoonful of vanilla ice cream, rather than a whole pint of chocolate fudge.

As Changmin stared into his eyes, Jaejoong stared back, echoing the slightly dazed expression that was all over Changmin's face, what with his eyes slightly dilated and his lips agape. Jaejoong fought the supreme urge to kiss him again. But this time, not on the cheek.

“What was that for?” Changmin said quietly.

Jaejoong swallowed but it was unproductive because his throat was dry and constricting. “What do you mean? I love you. Do I have to have a reason to kiss you?”

Changmin's eyes flickered a sense of worry and wonderment for a split second before relaxing into the familiar. He smiled with his cute, mismatched eyes and Jaejoong bit his lip as he felt heat flush down from his stomach to his toes and to other…strategic areas. How could he not know he was killing him right now?

Jaejoong made a point to avoided Min's eyes as much he could for as long as he could, which was an impressive whole three minutes. Changmin kept his odd staring act, his eyes slightly wavering back and forth like he was trying his damndest to read Jaejoong's brain.

Uncomfortable, Jaejoong grabbed Min's shoulders and shook him softly, before pushing him back and away with a satisfying thwack. The fans had called their awkward physical banter "one touch". He liked to call it a self-defense mechanism.

But Changmin didn't play along like he was hoping. Instead he just lamely fell back, and kept staring, before closing the small gap between them and letting his strong, warm arms slide deliciously slow around Jaejoong's hips. It made that hot, tingling feeling intensify, and Jaejoong wanted to closed his eyes so he could revel in it properly. But reality was a cold bitch, and she was screaming in his ear that there were a lot of people standing around watching them. He wondered if Min could hear his heart hammering in his chest. A part of him wanted to push him away because he was more than a little bit terrified of what he was capable of. But then again, so much of him just wanted to soak this feeling up.

They weren’t doing anything wrong. Right? This was completely innocuous.

Min's lips were inches from his ear and he said, “You do need a reason, for something like that.”

Oh, so that tingle? It’s tripling now.

“I just…I…” he trailed, unsure of how to explain. “I...I really like your glasses.”

He looked utterly confused and sputtered. “My glasses?”

“They make you look...really sexy.” It just spilled out.

Jaejoong sunk his head, a breath away from Min's nearby shoulder, embarrassed and slightly giggly.

Then he felt rather than heard Changmin's own soft chuckle. “Really?”

Jaejoong couldn't help himself and nodded, hiding his face.

And then just as quickly as it came, the contact disappeared as Changmin stepped back. Jaejoong looked up, feeling empty at the loss. Changmin was looking at his feet, the traces of his former smile still on his lips. One of his hands was itching the back of his neck in the awkwardness of the moment.

“Well, I guess I have to wear them all the time then.”

Jaejoong just stared at him. And with that, Min padded away in search of some other hyung to annoy. Jaejoong's breath hitched.

It really was the worst kind of foreplay.
