You will need to download
this variation file into your Photoshop files (presets > photoshop actions folder). If you've kept up with my tutorials, you may already have this file downloaded it's aptly named dkgh.
1. Open your image {I used a picture from the
Hayden Panettiere Gallery} and crop to 100x100 at 72 ppi. (You don't have to crop, I just did because it's easier to show for the tutorial.)
2. Layer > Duplicate {Background Copy}
Image > Adjustments > Variations
Load > dkgh
OK
Set to Luminosity at 100%.
3. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance

**Note, for tutorial # 10, you have to do tutorial # 9. :)**
Program: Photoshop CS2
Involves: Variations, Selective Color & Color Balance
From:
to:
1. Use the coloring technique from Tutorial #9 (which is considered to be the first part of this tutorial), located
here on at least two images.
2. Open a New document (File > New) about 1024x768 (you can always go back later and resize it smaller) at 72 ppi.
3. On the first image that you're going to use Select > All and then Edit > Copy Merged. Paste it onto your new document.
4. Repeat Step 3 with your second image, which you will then lay on top of your first image. Using the eraser tool, erase the part of Layer 2 that overlays Hayden's face on Layer 1.
Essentially, blend your two images together.
5. When you're done blending, take
this texture by Bambinainnero @ LJ, and copy/paste it on top of your new document.
Set to Screen, 100%.
6. Layer > New Layer
Using the Paint Bucket Tool dump #6dcff6 into the new layer that you just created.
Set to Luminosity at 58% opacity.
7. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves
I've actually made this easy on you. Rather than giving you all the pinpoints for this curves layer, you are just going to download the file for it. Download it into your presets > Photoshop Actions folder, just as you did for the variations file.
Download it
here.
Set the curves layer to Overlay at 100%.
8. Next, you are going to use
this gradient (copy it off line & paste it into your new document as a new layer).
Set it Multiply at 77% opacity.
9. Add cute text if you do desire. The font I used was called
Heineken (click the name to go to dafont.com to download).
I would love to see your results!!
