Here’s me catching up on events for the first week of January. On the third day, it was bye bye holidays and hello to a new work week. As expected, everyone was still on lazy holiday mode. We all took it easy during our first day back, even our boss. That was all good since no one really wanted to be stressed right away anyway.
One thing that I was looking forward to that day was the special screening for bloggers for Collateral Beauty. We were a little behind with some foreign films because of the Manila Film Festival. For around 3 weeks in December, only local films were being shown in the cinemas for the Film Festival and we now have to play catch-up with our movie reviews.
For the first movie of 2017, I was also re-united with some of the bloggers who I haven’t seen for several months. Chinky was away visiting her boyfriend in Canada since October and Omar left first quarter of the year to work in Boracay.
They’re now both back and are now going to be active movie bloggers once again. Woohoo! I’m going to see them again next week for the premieres of Live By Night and the new xXx movie.
Right after the screening, Collateral Beauty was great by the way and I really didn’t expect to cry. We went to the nearby Starbucks to have a good long talk over coffee. I got these chocolate goodies from them.
It was almost midnight when we called it a day. I especially treasured the talk because I got to open up to them about some resentments that I was feeling towards my boyfriend at that time. I didn’t have anyone to talk to for weeks and I just drowned myself in work so that I wouldn’t be miserable the whole time. However, that night, when I was in the company of friends, I finally had the chance to blurt it all out and man, that felt good.
It felt good to have all that heavy stuff out of my chest and to have some great advice come my way. It made me appreciate our friendship more.
