I just spent like four hours in the Ithcan Office!!! So tired.
First day working in my new position as Classifieds Manager! I'm in charge of just the classified ads (i.e. "for rent", "help wanted", etc.), and not the regular ones.
On the inDesign program on the computer, every Monday night I have to delete all the ads that shouldn't run anymore, keep the ones that are supposed to remain, and type in the new ads recieved during the week, and also manage the billing. Sounds simple enough, but NO. All the ad orders are done by paper, so today I had papers, checks, and credit card authorization slips strewn all over the desk and floor. It was my first time doing it and I had no clue where to start! It took me an hour alone just to check my work, too. The numbers didn't match up (aaarrghhh!) so I wasted a lot of time counting and re-counting the ads on the computer layout (48) and the (thick) paper pile of ad order forms (33). There were 15 extra ads on the computer layout that should have been taken out, so I had to go to the previous week's paper pile and go through every single one and make sure it was deleted.
The whole thing should only take an hour from now on (not four!), since I know what to do :)
