apparently Julia isn't garnishing the support from the rest of the party as we would have hoped, and kevin 'over-grown baby' rudd has pulled out, thereby passing more support on to kim 'jabba the hutt' beazley.

so in favour of Julia am i that i went to the ALP website and submitted some feedback:

Dear Labour party,
Although this decision ultimately falls into the hands of the Labour caucus, I would like to express my support for Julia Gillard as a future leader of the Labour party. In previous years, Kim Beazley has attempted to oppose John Howard, and failed. Although Mark Latham was unable to gain Australia's confidence as a new leader, I believe it would be a step backwards for the Labour party to once again trust in the leadership of Beazley. Not only is Julia a fresh face, she would represent a ground-breaking achievement for any Australian political party - that of becoming the first female Opposition Leader. The potential for this to then lead to the first female Australian Prime Minister would, in my humble opinion, be a great boon for an otherwise flagging Labour party. Now more than ever females are watching and involving themselves in politics, and I think the Labour party would be surprised at how many female voters would back Julia based on her sex alone. Between myself and my female friends, I can confidently assure at least 20 female votes. Perhaps it's not enough to win an election, but I believe it's enough to let her have a go.
