Dec 28, 2016 00:58

Wow! Its been ages I write on my own journal. Feel some kind of weird inside while typing this. lol.

Anyway, next year will be.....

20th Anniversary of KinKi Kids!!!

Big clap for our dear futari!

Counting days to their 20th anniversary, I got an idea, to share our favorite thing related to KinKi Kids. Something like, top ten favorite ballad, top ten favorite rock songs, top ten drama etc. I've think about this long time ago and and I thought this is kind of sharing knowledge I wish every fans would involve with. Since next year will be a BIG year for both Domotos, why not we started from now on, because I personally feel that every fans sure very passionate to share their favorite things related to Futari. ;)

So, lets started with Top Ten Favorite Ballad of KinKi Kids. Why ballad comes first? The answer is simple, Because we all know, KinKi Kids have the best BALLAD from JE. Thats it.

I try my best to list down my favorite ballad starting from their debut until now. Its a very tough choice, a very hard decision to made. 20 years together with 15 albums, 4 compilations plus 1 coming soon and 37 singles so far, its a very great and amazing achievement I must say. Thats why it is really difficult to made my choice after all, even I write this in 3am with KinKi Kids Love & Life con as my background music.

So, after a long quarrel in myself, here is my pick : (phew~)

10. LOVING

Coupling song from their 28th single, Yakusoku (約束) which was released on 28 Jan 2009. This single was one of my favorite all time from KinKi Kids. I fall in love with this song the first time I listen to it. Love at first sight for a song is rare but once you did, you know it is that song will be your “saigo no uta” (last song). wth am i mumbling here? anyway, you can find the translation here

It is a SAD song. Yes. It is a song that tell us what is the most important thing to achieve in a relationship. It is not just love. It is more that that. This song tell us how important it is to appreciate someone before its too late. How important it is to understand of each other and learn to forgive and forget. Yes, those things.

Talking about the lyric, the part

On days when we couldn’t forgive one another, and turned our back to one another
Just saying these precious words felt like they were lies
Loveliness supressed everything and hid them

This part really hitted me hard…when love was replaced by hate, then whatever good things that happened will became a painful memories. Isn’t that sad?

Anyway, for those who happen to search for this song…you can listen it here

9.  Te Wo Futte Sayonara

The sixth track from their E album, released on 25.07.2001. One my fav album, and the first ballad of KinKi Kids that I love.

Again, it is a sad song. Read the translation here

8. Solitude~hontou ni sayonara

Their 15th single. Honestly, I have no idea who K.Dino is until I read about this song on Wiki. Koichi was so good in writing lyrics back then. Not saying that he wasn’t good now, but I prefer the young Koichi in composing and written a song.

By the time this single released, that was an era of transition of him and Tsuyoshi, turning slowly from an idol into a musician. The way they written a lyric, compose and harmonized songs, made me realize that both of them did it in a way that they want fans to see them more than just an idol.

Personally, I think that is one of similarities between him and Tsuyoshi, both of them want others and their fans to appreciate the work itself and not the idol behind. Early days when they entered the entertainment world at a very young age, they had no idea of how colorful it is. And when they saw and used that color, at the certain age,  they start to realize how important it is to managed and getting used of it, and that was the moment that they started to dissociate from being just a pop idol and want to be recognized for their ability.

And this was the era, that I started to know them, and became a fans of them. Until now.

7.  Samare Kadas ~another oasis~

Coupling song from single Swan Song, released on 28.10.2009. To be honest, I don’t know exactly why I like this song so much that it can make into my top ten fav ballad. I just fall in love with this song without a strong reason. Funny when I think about it, but yeah, I love this song. Really.

And until now, I still don’t know what is the meaning of Samare Kadas T_T. Anyone cares to share the translation?

6.  Ai no Katamari

Well, (I think) its a lie if fans  wasn’t mention this song into their ballad list. Ne? Do this song need more explanation? Dig it yourself.

The last line “ 最後の人に出逢えたよね” (I’ve met my last person, haven’t I?), is the line that seriously come from a woman’s heart. And it makes me love Tsuyoshi more and more.

5. Chigau Michi, Onaji Sora

Coupling song from their 35th single, my favorite single so far. A song that made me smile while listening to it. A song that me feel some kind of happy memories. A song that made me think, Koichi and Tsuyoshi feel no worries about being apart or being different all the way on their journey, because they know, they still walk on the same sky. Yeah, that kind of feeling. A feeling of I-know-they-were-still-idol in me. haha XD

4.  Yume wo Mireba Kizutsuku Koto mo Aru

Their 35th single. My favorite single. Yes. Yes. And Yes. A song that made me realize, no matter how hard life is, dream will give me hope to keep on walking and chase it. The song that giving courage to those who having difficult time. The song that telling me its okay to cry if you’re totally feel too weak to deal with it.

This kind of song tell us, how important dream and hope is. Even it was a darkest moment of your life, dream and hope will give struggle to keep on going. If I were asked which song of KinKi Kids that became a turning point for me, I’ll pick this song. Yeah for sure.

3. Ame On no Borero / WELCOME

Ame On no Borero were the 13th track from N album.

A song that you can listen while you lie down on your bed, looking up  at skies and think of someone who left you, and suddenly cry alone. Yeah, imagination from me while listening to this song.

Just like Samare Kadas, I don’t know exactly what is the meaning of Borero. I tried to googled it and found this. Sounds like too ordinary if we read it for the first time. A spanish dance? A short jacket? Someone please, translate this song for me T_T

WELCOME, its the 7th track from L album. I was confused at first, whether to put it out from my list, but I can’t help myself to do so, since I really really love this song. So here it is, at third place, somehow with a sad song. lol.

Among all their ballad songs, I feel that WELCOME gives Koichi more strength and opportunity in sing ballad with his own way. He is shine through this song, and sounds so amazing in live, much more than Tsuyoshi. WELCOME is a ballad of Koichi. Seriously.

2. Kiken Na Kankei

Its a song of KinKi Kids. A song of their dangerous relationship. A song of their journey for half of their life. It needs more time to elaborate this song because it is related to futari, which is futari themselves is somehow kinda platonic (for me). Need more time to write summary for this song. And it deserve to be 2nd in my list.

1. Stand by Me

I can’t believe I put this song as my first fav ballad from KinKi Kids! Yeah..that was my feeling at first. But then, I slowly understand why.

A very cool song that give me a refresh feeling. The first time I listen to it, I feel like….its an ordinary song. Then suddenly it changed. Tsuyoshi’s voice, Koichi’s says baby baby..slowly makes me fall in love with this song. Sounds funny, but yeah, thats it. The song that made me smile without specific reason, and makes me think of Tsuyoshi and Koichi every time I listen to it. The song that makes me think that every morning I wake up, Tsuyoshi were beside me, smiling. Yes, it gives me a refresh feeling, and strength to start my day beautifully.

I was upset when they didn’t sing this song on Love & Life con. Kinda frustrated a bit because I wanted so much they sing it with guitar. I wish they will sing it soon. I’ll be waiting, even for million years. T-T

And yes, I managed to list down my picks of ballad from KinKi Kids. Again, I said, it is a very tough job to do. phew~

What’s your choice then? :))

Random writing : I've finish Season 4 of Star Trek : The Next Generations. Wow! So much in me that I wanted someone like Captain Jean-Luc Picard as my boss. Seriously. He is the man. But still, my heart goes to Liutenant Commander Data. (<3)
